Someone came up to me today and said I’m a friendly, approachable professor. They said that wasn’t normally their experience. I don’t think I’m out of the norm at @illinoistech. But if faculty at other places are unapproachable, that’s one reason why academia is slipping in the eyes of the public.

UChicago announced today that it had partnered with AI company Anthropic to give students, faculty, and staff access to Claude Enterprise services on a rolling basis starting in July. All University community members will have access by fall quarter. Story to come.
