Between 2001-2014, UK employed 2850 interpreters in Afghan, and a few hundred more afterwards as contractors. With 440 resettled before April ‘21, I asked how many we rescued during Op PITTING - I could only account for 99. He answered 650. Fair enough - I will try and find them.

@DownardEddie @BeedCoral @Charlie533080 Absolutely,& it’s a disgusting dereliction of duty of care and loyalty that the Gov was so late to get underway the process of bringing those terps to safety. Disgusting.France saw it coming and got their house in order in good time. It was evidently do-able and this Gov failed.

@DownardEddie @BeedCoral @Charlie533080 not necessarily being taken away from tasks that can assist terps being processed - which I personally think can be done once they’re safe - or them reaching a place of safety to fly to U.K. But we are def agreed on the need to get into gear months ago for terps we owe so much.
