A "democracy wall" at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) with a message urging the government to respond to public concerns over the fatal Tai Po blaze has been surrounded by plastic hoarding.
The now-hidden signs said: "Deep condolences to the deceased from the great fire of Wang Fuk Court. We are Hongkongers. We urge the government to heed public concerns. Respond to public's requests. Justice must be served."

“This is how press freedom dies—in seemingly minor accommodations and compromises that add up over time.”
