While out today I noticed an older lady was SOB, PLB, all the s/s COPD. I took a leap, asked if she'd tried Pulm Rehab - "No, would that even help?" I Introduced myself and explained the benefits of PR- she left so excited to tell her MD that she wants to do PT for PR. #success
@Steven_AK@ptreviewer In addition, HTN can be silent and deadly. Using evidence is a good global comment that most PTs will agree with, however, sometimes a healthy 35 year old athlete has no evidence of cardiac disease - and we can be the first to notice. I love this opportunity as a PT :)
"Most Physical Therapist that measuring cardiovascular indices is not their job..." I think I just cried. It becomes your job REAL fast when your OP, 35 year old pt collapses and you could have seen the red flags. #vitalsarevital
@Steven_AK@ptreviewer I don't disagree with that statement. It is essential that therapist take a baseline measurement at evaluation and I would even recommend during PN/DC and change in status.

CARBS ARE NOT THE ENEMY. NOT ALL SUGARS ARE THE ENEMY EITHER; FRUIT IS GOOD FOR YOU.
The enemy is too much skittles, soda, wonder bread, and fast food.
You don't need to understand macronutrients to eat well. Just minimize foods wrapped in plastic. https://t.co/7edPy4UqAN
