@KirstyChallen@TheSnoozeDoctor@davehartin Tried to see a bunch of ‘quick wins’ at work (EM Cons) yesterday - triage said quick win, actual history and exam said v poorly, massive social issues, lots of Ix etc etc. Our specialty is a specialty for a reason - not everyone can rock up and do it!!!
@Xeon4f145d96s1@KirstyChallen@MetanephrosDoc@TheSnoozeDoctor@davehartin Recently CCTd EM cons here - would crack on with any HALO procedure as needed. Have (unfortunately) done a resus hysterotomy as HST - would rather not it again tbh. So no, I know how, and would make the decision to do it, which is often the stumbling block.
@davethegp @AbbieTBee Totally agree - whatever you prefer. I’m just Caroline to everyone! Officially Dr Turner… but that sounds like my grandad! Been married 11 years, haven’t changed it - Dr Gilfillan is my father in law not me!!
@AbbieTBee It’s really difficult, I suppose lots of empathy, check they do have the right referrals in place, good letters to GP, and acceptance that they might come back!
@doctor_dru_ Not just non-medical staff - I’ve been asked to do BLS by another trust… because my in date ALS isn’t proof enough (and the fact that I’m an EM ST6…!)
