I’d love to see the first hand accounts from World at War used through current historian’s perspectives - so much new insights from archives since it was made
Do we need/want to remake or improve upon World at War? Personally I'd say no.
Could we? Yes, absolutely.
Should World at War for some reason stop us trying to make successful and appealing documentaries about more niche subjects in the war? Of course not, that's just daft.
Still patting myself on the back for not having sneaked a look at the score, left the phone off etc before watching it first thing this morning. I don’t really have that kind of self discipline
Good insights. I also see some influences from the Ferrari archive but they feel like an attempt to connect to the brand aesthetic rather than developing a new design which captures how a Ferrari feels to look at and touch
I promised you all post gathering my thoughts on the Ferrari Luce and now I’ve had a couple of days to digest and think, plus several glasses of cold Tizer, here it is.
Let me say straight off that it’s bad, both objectively and subjectively. I’ll get into what’s wrong with ithe design but at the moment all I have are more questions than answers. A thread 1/n
This full interview with Flávio and Jony Ive are worth watching before fully forming an opinion about the Luce. I understand Flávio’s position, I believe LoveFrom got the exterior badly wrong. It’s missing iconic styling cues, they don’t need to be heritage
Ferrari Chief Designer Flavio Manzoni explains the process behind the Ferrari Luce (full section)
- Why bring in Jony Ive
- How the LoveFrom team worked alone in SF for 8 months on both interior and exterior
- What surprised Ferrari
- Why design a larger electric car, not a two-seater
- Why the Ferrari Luce is like a "capsule collection"
- The aerodynamics of the first all electric Ferrari
Full episode including Jony Ive on HUGE* Conversations.
Drop the headline-chasing gimmicks — there are big problems to fix
Recent announcements from govt and leadership contenders show lots of panic and no strategy.

@F1@f1 need to look at the TV direction, consistently missing the action, missing what few overtakes and incidents - bring back someone who can read the race under pressure
And yet every time a new Labour team gets into the Treasury and asks about this idea they will be told the data clearly shows it would actually result in lower tax revenues, and they won't do it.
We are pretty much at the revenue maximising rates for capital gains tax.
And this isn't because of avoidance schemes, it's mainly just that people would defer selling assets or possibly move overseas.
What you don’t understand, @wesstreeting - is that your cleaner’s landlord is taking a risk with their money. Just like every entrepreneur, business person and investor does.
If you increase taxes on risk takers there’ll be fewer entrepreneurs, fewer risks taken, fewer jobs created, lower growth, less tax collected from wealth creators, which will then shift the tax burden back onto your cleaner.
It’s naive 6th form political nonsense, which just goes to show that it’s not just Starmer that’s the problem, it’s the whole Labour movement that really doesn’t have a clue how the system actually works.
“This season has seen Hearts capture the imagination of football fans, not only in Scotland, but the world over. We pay tribute to Derek McInnes, his staff, the first team and the supporters, who have done the club proud this season. None of them deserved the disgraceful scenes that unfolded.”
@PaulMcG1992 Zanardi was an unbelievable driver. This pass is just one instance of his greatness.
What he then endured was absolute horrifying but to come back from that and race again and win was unbelievable.
To then go onto win Gold medals was inspiring.
R.I.P Legend 💔🇮🇹
