“Am I not here who am your mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Are you not in the folds of my mantle?” Our Lady of Guadalupe to St. Juan Diego.

You can’t have it both ways. The “Chinese Bishops” argument also illustrates that consecrating without a mandate is not the highest law & that there can be extenuating circumstances disobeying (state of necessity) - supreme law of the Church is saving souls.
@PaulinusOfTrier The “Chinese bishops” argument works the other way for the SSPX also. If the modernists say “it’s a case of a lesser evil or duress as the Chinese gov’t can threaten worse”, then it shows that there can be extenuating circumanstances to disobeying a papal mandate.
@shiningsweu@dorachan2se I would say that the bishop misinterprets one stanza of the song. “Nothing to kill or die for” applies to there being no countries. “And no religion too” comes as a separate thought after that; see attached. Sounds like the bishop is part of the “us” of the song.
@Vitus_osst Sort of caught between a rock and a hard place. Can’t in good conscience be in communion with the things shown below. I’ll take Catholicism with mitigated culpability in a state of necessity.
@SteveDallasDC9@EricTheBoss1776 Yes it is frustrating. The nonsense continues and one wonders when it is going to stop or when our Lord will say “That’s enough.”
God be with you in the FSSP.
@SteveDallasDC9@EricTheBoss1776 When nobody says anything, the salvation of souls is at stake. “Pastoral” actions as shown below implicitly undermine doctrine and then become the norm. People are led astray. To put a different spin on St. Jerome’s phrase “The Church woke up, and found it wasn’t Catholic.”

What you state about the SSPX implying it is impossible to achieve holiness is not true. See Fr. Pagliarani’s own words highlighted.
@Vitus_osst I will acknowledge that it is serious matter to consecrate bishops without a mandate. However, there is a state of necessity that lessens culpability drastically. They need to go ahead with the consecrations.
@EricTheBoss1776 Additionally, I have nothing personal against FSSP but when was the last time they spoke up publicly about all the nonsense going on under Francis and Leo? They don’t speak up because if they do speak up, say good-bye to any ordinations.

After Rome “does in” the SSPX, It’s just a matter of time before they start coming after everyone else’s TLM. This is per Francis’ letter that accompanied Traditionis Custodes (TC) (see att.). Latest TLM casualty is the diocese of Owensboro. Bishop quotes TC.
@Counteredlogos 99% of Catholics don’t understand infallibility. Based on Leo’s words, I can become a Methodist. No one is going to come back 1 week, 1 month, 1 year later & inform me that the pope was mistaken. These statements/actions are taken at face value & undermine/contradict the Faith.
