@DavisDoesWX I think a better idea is to not have a “standard” when it comes to CAPE, but instead look at the environment as a whole to see how that CAPE can be utilized. Ex: environments with 75-100 CAPE but inverted V profiles to 700-500mb can produce severe storms w/ 50-60kt winds.
It seems winter is not done with the Utah valleys just yet. After a week with highs in the 70s, 1.5” of snow fell overnight in Eagle Mountain last night! @NWSSaltLakeCity
Just over 3” of snow in Eagle Mountain UT with moderate snow still falling. Higher elevation valleys look to be producing quite well with this system! @NWSSaltLakeCity#utwx
1/ A lot of hype/discussion about next week's severe threat needs a bit of a deeper dive into it. While some potential exists, I do not think it's a very potent setup currently. Why do I think that?
@AdamLucioWX Paper maps is my go to. Get yourself an extra large atlas and you’re golden. Spending 30 minutes in a Loves parking lot looking over roads in a target area is a must do thing for me.
Parents, now is the time to be on guard. We are once again reminding you to be diligent about checking your child's candy throughout the Halloween season. Our biologists have just found THREE invasive bighead carp rolled up and shoved inside an almond joy. We are appalled.
I have been informed by @Drewshearer444 that I must drive 5 hours north to the Red River where the most mischievous boundary (AKA the dryline) may intersect with morning outflow to produce supercells with mammoth hail. Should be fun? #txwx#okwx
