✨Just out: our @CarbonBrief summary of what #COP29 means for food, land and nature.
Carbon markets, deforestation, the Rio Trio, Indigenous rights, methane, greenwashing, new NDCs, trade…we’ve got you covered.
@fossilforager They are all gorgeous! What is the flower in the top right one?
How fast is shipping (through your website or etsy)? Just checking if they can arrive before I leave for a trip :)
@GlobalEcoGuy It would be very interesting to include insects as an alternative source of protein to replace some of the animal agriculture - and the financial and ecological benefits this could have
Has capitalism left it too late to avoid hellish 1.75/2.25°C of global warming and rising?
Yes.
Can we adapt?
No.
Has the scientific community issued major consensus reports indicating political-economic systems changes are mandatory?
Yes.
Will journalists reveal this?

My biggest fear about CO₂ removal (CDR) isn't that someone will try to deploy it at scale now (who will pay trillions of dollars for that?) but that voters and decision-makers will think we have magical solutions and don't need to decarbonize ASAP.
#AbortoLegalParaTodoMexico ha sido una lucha muy larga pero por fín en todo México se reconoce el derecho de las mujeres* a decidir. Una alegría muy grande.

Here's the brilliant team Climate Policy Radar, who's behind https://t.co/Acp9Mf396f and https://t.co/oMzq5THRk1 (where you can also find national laws and policies, as well as international commitments...).
What's at stake if #deepseamining goes ahead?

@daisydunnesci@CarbonBrief I'd like to see more information about wetlands - both abaut their role as carbon sink that has great mitigation potential, and about the effects of global warming on them.
Great news from Montreal! Now, to achieve 30% protection of the ocean will also require the completion of the #HighSeasTreaty. “States must bring this wave of action to completing a robust and strong treaty at #IGC5 in February.” https://t.co/AeYNW9JE3u #COP15#30x30
It’s been a busy day at #COP27! But one thing was clear:
We cannot tackle the Climate Crisis without protecting our oceans.
We cannot conserve #biodiversity without protecting our oceans.
We cannot build a healthier, more sustainable future without protecting our oceans 🌊💙
