@naval Freedom comes with responsibilities. Kids - and, sadly, many adults - are simply not mentally equipped to exercise this kind of seductive and addictive freedom. As with many drugs, abused, this particular freedom turns to shades and degrees of serfdom.
@policytensor The Balts cannot seem to shake off the historic trauma of the Soviet times, fear and irrationality in politics being their go-to reaction at the very mention of Russia. Couple this with our beloved Kaja's room temperature IQ, you have a recipe for disaster.
@shaneparrish This makes no sense. I respect the grit, but unrealistic goals are the key reason for complacency in the first place. Besides, a vast majority will statistically fail at something really big. This is survivorship bias at its finest.
@DanielMiessler Ok, your reframing maybe true, but not sure I get the point. In reality, we still get run over. If it's the best we can piece together as a human collective, who cares what's the starting base? Maybe mediocre, but it obviously was good enough before the advent of AI.
@citrinowicz What's so difficult to understand? If the war restarts, Iran goes back to the Stone Age but so does the world economy and the entire GCC region becomes inhabitable through infrastructure destruction (desalinisation ร oil).
@admcollingwood Not sure he either understands it's an L or cares about it very much. Feels more like he's fed up and bored, having reframed the entire debacle to himself as a victory in deep dungeons of his narcissistic mind.
