BREAKING: Hunter Biden FLIPS MAGA’s “socialism” attack on its HEAD with a brilliant point about libraries – and explains why the word doesn’t scare him!

Hunter Biden has been watching Republicans throw the word “socialist” at a new generation of Democrats, and he has a pretty simple response: Forget the label for a minute and listen to what the people they demonize are actually proposing.

Hunter was discussing with Ilia Calderón of Univision the growing strength of democratic socialists like Michigan Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani when he turned to the policies that supposedly make them so frightening.

“If you want to call it socialism, to say that you believe that it is a right for every American to have access to healthcare – then so be it,” Hunter said. “We're the only industrialized nation in the world that does not provide free medical care to its people. And meanwhile, we have the worst results.”

Hunter then turned to education, arguing that Republicans are stretching the word “socialism” beyond recognition when they slap it on ideas like making sure every child can get a decent, affordable education from kindergarten through college.
And that led him to his best example, borrowed from Mamdani.

If someone proposed today that the government create a place where everybody could go and borrow books for free, Hunter said, Republicans would probably scream “socialism” before the doors even opened.

Of course, we already have that terrifying government program. It's called a library.

Hunter's larger point is that MAGA has spent years trying to turn “socialism” into a poison word, because it's much easier to scare people with a label than argue against popular ideas on their merits.

“I don't see what many of these people that are being labeled as socialists are asking for beyond anything that FDR promised with the New Deal,” he said.
And that's the conversation Republicans would rather not have.

Social Security was once a radical idea. So were Medicare, unemployment insurance and a federal minimum wage. Public schools and libraries ask taxpayers to pay for services available to everybody, whether they personally use them or not.

Americans don't spend much time worrying about what ideological label to slap on those things anymore. They just know that they make the country a better place to live.

MAGA is trying to weaponize “socialism” as a label meant to end the argument before it begins. Hunter's point is that Americans might want to ignore the label and look at what they're actually being offered.

Trump's White House Ran an Extortion Racket Against Colorado — and Got Away With It

This wasn't governing. It was a shakedown.

In December 2025, while Trump publicly demanded Tina Peters' release and smeared Colorado's governor, his White House staffer Emily Underwood ordered five federal agencies onto a "brainstorm call" to immediately starve the state of grants and support. The next day the money started vanishing — hundreds of millions canceled by Transportation and Energy alone. More punishment followed: water funding vetoed, Space Command yanked, a world-class climate lab targeted for dismantling.

The email is a smoking gun. A federal judge called the whole idea "phenomenal" in its brazenness. Colorado's crime? Convicting a Trump ally who tampered with voting machines and refusing to scrap its mail-in ballot system.

The racket worked. Polis folded. Peters walked free. Trump got his win.

This is textbook abuse of power — using the federal treasury as a personal weapon against a state that wouldn't obey. Authoritarian regimes do this. Mature democracies do not. The fact that it succeeded only makes the corruption more disgusting.

Impeachment efforts have been launched over far less. A president who treats an American state like a protection racket target has already forfeited any claim to legitimate authority.

It really is that simple. Democratic Socialism is the very simple idea that the American government should help working-class people instead of funneling more and more wealth to the oligarchs.

It's the idea that you should be able to get healthcare without going bankrupt.

That you should be able to afford a house for your family.

That your kids should get a good education.

That we should spend our money here in the U.S. instead of wasting it overseas in support of genocide.

Predictably, the MAGA loons came out of the woodwork to attack Hunter as a "communist," which is the reheated, pathetic narrative that Republicans are desperately trying to push ahead of the midterms. They can't argue policy and have nothing to offer the American people beyond more corruption, more wars, and more shielding of pedophiles. So they're resorting to lazy red-baiting.

Politicians like Mayor Zohran Mamdani have proven that not only can Democratic Socialists win, they can thrive once in power. He's incredibly popular and is reminding his city what it looks like when a leader actually cares about improving his constituents' lives instead of enriching himself.

We're done playing their games. It's high time that America rose up and started demanding the things that every other civilized nation provides to its citizens.

I watched Trump’s speech at the Correspondents’ Dinner last night.
It’s hard to articulate how sad it made me.

Sad and embarrassed and exhausted.

Here is the thing about a man who is a joke. He can’t tell one.

People think humor is a talent. It isn’t. It’s a capacity. To make someone laugh you have to be able to laugh at yourself, and to laugh at yourself you have to step outside of yourself and see what everyone else sees. For one second you have to be just another person in the room.

Most people can do this by the time they are nine years old.

He has never once managed it. Not in fifty years of cameras. Not for a second.

That is not a quirk. It is a symptom. The muscle that lets you tell a joke is the same one that lets you feel what another person feels. A man who cannot survive being laughed at cannot imagine being anyone but himself. He will only ever be generous when it is photographed. He will only ever be kind when it is filmed.

There is a name for it.

So he stood up there and did what he always does. He hit down. He made jokes about people’s weight. He made jokes about their intelligence. He made jokes about how women look. He read out the names of people he doesn’t like, and mocked them. Always mocking. And when no one laughed he blamed his speech writers.

The cruelty dressed as humor has worn so thin.

And for the 30% of you still in the cult who will inevitably call me a crackhead and blame it all on my Dad, all I can say is please, for the love of God, open your eyes. Wake the fuck up. Have some dignity. Have some pride.

All of this happening—this open sewage system. You talk about draining the swamp. He gave it a presidential suite with gold leaf.

And you’re seeing this gross corruption at a scale and scope never before seen in modern American history. This is stuff I don’t even imagine exists at this scale in a year and a half, even in Putin’s Russia or Kim Jong-un’s North Korea.

BREAKING: HOLY SH*T! A former Justice Department Pardon Attorney BLOWS THE WHISTLE on Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche — reveals that he fired her for refusing to do a mafia-style favor for disgraced actor Mel Gibson.

This is jaw-dropping corruption...

"Liz Oyer, former Pardon Attorney, describes how Todd Blanche fired her when she refused to do a dangerous official favor for Trump friend Mel Gibson," Congressman Jamie Raskin wrote on X.

"The actor lost his federal firearm rights after committing domestic violence," he explained. "Gibson assaulted his girlfriend while she was holding their baby daughter, smashing her in the mouth, breaking her teeth, threatening her with his gun. Gibson asked Trump’s DOJ to reinstate his federal firearm rights despite his criminal conviction."

Gibson was accused of attacking musician Oksana Grigorieva in 2010 while the two were in a romantic relationship. In addition to the horrifying physical abuse that Raskin recounted, leaked phone conversations also revealed that Gibson admitted to slapping her and at one point told her: "If you get raped by a pack of n*****s, it'll be your fault." He repeatedly called her a "whore," "bitch," and "c*nt."

In addition to his horrific treatment of Grigorieva, Gibson launched into an infamous antisemitic rant during a DUI stop in 2006 during which he said "Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world" and repeatedly referred to "f*cking Jews."

In other words, he's exactly the kind of monster that Trump gravitates towards, which explains why he has been folded into MAGA's inner circle and appointed "Special Ambassador to Hollywood," a meaningless title that nonetheless shows how deeply embedded he is with this administration.

In his X post, Raskin went into greater detail about Blanche's push to reinstate Gibson's firearm rights—

"Although Blanche had the power to do it on his own, he tried to force Oyer to give her stamp of approval," he stated. "Not convinced of Gibson’s rehabilitation or his lack of dangerousness, and knowing that over half of women murdered in the United States are killed by a current or past intimate partner, and the presence of firearms in an abusive household increases the risk of murder by 500%, Oyer refused to have anything to do with Blanche’s dangerous and unethical suggestion. Blanche sacked her."

The congressman also shared a post from Oyer herself, in which she wrote that Blanche "fired me for doing my job" and "subjected me and my family to months of retaliation."

"My story is one of many reasons the Senate should not confirm Blanche again," Oyer added. She shared a link to the official letter she sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

In it, she revealed that Blanche subjected her and her family to "an extended course of retaliatory conduct, including attempting to prevent me from informing Congress about his actions by directing U.S. Marshals to deliver an intimidating letter to our home and initiating a baseless professional misconduct complaint against me with the bar where I am licensed."

Damningly, Blanche fired Oyer just two hours after she informed him that she "would not rubberstamp a political favor for a celebrity friend" of Trump. The administration wanted her to pen a memo recommending that Gibson regain legal access to guns, which he lost when he was convicted of domestic violence.

The actor's attorney had sent a letter to the Justice Department requesting the favor, which absurdly "cited Mr. Gibson’s personal relationship with Mr. Trump and his catalogue of famous films." The suggestion that appearing in movies somehow entitles him to special treatment is galling, but it shows that he understands Trump' warped, fame-obsessed psyche.

Oyer explined that "longstanding DOJ policy" requires the Office of the Pardon Attorney to conduct "careful vetting" and risk assessment and for the FBI to do a background investigation. Blanche wanted her to ignore the usual procedures entirely.

"Rearming a domestic abuser without careful vetting was not consistent with the Department’s policies or its duty to protect public safety," wrote Oyer.

"My recommendation was not actually needed to grant Mr. Gibson’s request. The legal authority to restore firearm rights rests with the Attorney General. As a career official, I understood that my recommendation would lend a veneer of legitimacy to what could otherwise look like a political favor," she explained.

Oyer took a brave stand and was punished for it. She is currently involved in litigation against the Department over her illegal firing, because it blatantly violated federal service and whistleblower protection laws.

Crucially, Oyer's letter also stated what we have all come to realize: the presidential pardon system has become completely corrupted under Trump.

"A pay-to-play pardon system has developed that has advantaged the wealthy and well-connected," she alleged.
