The FCβs beloved brother β₯οΈ
Sometimes life reminds us just how precious today really is.
Hold your loved ones close, say the words, make the call, give the hug.
Love while you can
@itvracing If it takes all this to help cool a horse down then why race them in the first place? This isn't normal. This is saying 'we know horses aren't coping in the heat, but we'll do it anyway'. Money rules as always.
@domdyer70 The bears are culled to keep their numbers down, they are not killed specifically to make hats. Why do people still believe this when the info is there just a tiny Google search away? Dom and the truth really don't go together do they.
@MikeParcej@WillieMullinsNH@PTownend No amount of good treatment beforehand can make up for how Gold Dancer was treated during his final race. If Townend had been the empathetic, caring jockey people (myself once included)claimed him to be then the runner up connections would have been occupying that empty spot.
@WillieMullinsNH@PTownend@patcashhealy Yes,Gold Dancer showed all of those attributes and more for both his jockey and you on Friday.
Oh hang on though...you ain't talking about him are you. Silly me.
@William99754232@tonymullins84 The reason was so obvious to everyone watching...in fact the only oblivious one was the one sitting on his horse. Pyrrhic victory indeed.
@berconn@tonymullins84 Does that mean pain from the whip is not felt immediately either? Because Gold Dancer certainly felt the strikes of Townends whip...he stopped trying to pull himself up and continued on.
@tonymullins84 No comparison whatsoever.Probably couldn't go back without his saddle and had to wait until Il Etait Temps got up before he could retrieve it. Why the long wait? He'd ridden his horse to exhaustion. That's why he fell and thats why he was down for so long.
@matrixgho5t@mjyharris What else did he carry on for then? A nice photo of Gold Dancer for his mantelpiece? A kiss from Alice? If your IQ is so superior then you can enlighten us to Townends reasons for finishing the race.
@ClaireDunkley4@mjyharris If adrenaline is the painkiller that everyone says it is then why use a whip? Wouldn't the adrenaline mask the effects of that too? Gold Dancer could certainly feel it on Friday as he ran on after being smacked. I'm not anti whip, its needed for safety so my question is genuine.
@PhilRichards01@mjyharris We love NH and really do want it to continue, but we also want openness, honesty and fairness...and most importantly for the welfare of the horses to come first. None of those things happened in that race on Friday and saying so does not make us anti's. Far from it.
