I feel the same way about both AI and nukes - it’s manifestly obvious that either could lay waste to humanity, and it’s manifestly obvious that I can’t accomplish anything by worrying about it
I feel about the AI stories this summer the way a lot of others feel about populist politics generally: too many people
who should know better are enacting hysteria in order to justify stupidity and self indulgence.
@CatholicPods Of course… shipwreck survivors are well advised to make decisions based upon perceived slights by their companions in the crash… Tolkien’s work famously lauds such behavior. lol
DiJonai Carrington posted “White Privilege” from the locker room after being ejected for fouling Indiana Fever’s Sophie Cunningham.
Judge for yourself, but color didn’t have nothing to do with the flagrant 2. IMO
Speaking off-the-cuff at lunch with 200 poor people from the Diocese of Rome, and welcoming them to the Pontifical gardens of Castel Gandolfo, Pope Leo XIV says:
“I didn’t prepare a speech because I am hungry. I’m hungry for justice, I’m hungry for authentic charity, I’m hungry for a Church that knows how to opens its doors, welcomes and looks after everyone.”
The Archdiocese of Chicago’s plan to give @SenatorDurbin a Catholic “Lifetime Achievement Award” is untenable. Works of justice & protecting life are not mutually exclusive but must be inclusive. Abortion violates “Thou shalt not kill” (Ex 20:13). I join @BishopPaprocki & @ArchCordileone in urging @CardinalBCupich to retract this award. Let us together pray & act consistently for life!
