#BREAKING: Canadian parliamentary committee labels Xinjiang abuses as "genocide" against Uyghurs, the first parliamentary body to do so.
#IPAC 🇨🇦 co-chairs @GarnettGenuis, @IrwinCotler and other members have campaigned tirelessly for this judgement.

You're seeing the immense, unchallengeable, unaccountable power of Silicon Valley giants over the flow of information. Imagine if Google joins in.
What's so amazing is that they never wanted this role. It was foisted on them by people, led by journalists, demanding they censor:
🟩 Meets basic standards of free democracy.
🟨 Serious problems.
🟪 Evil.
Yesterday the U.N. elected 15 countries to its Human Rights Council.

Canada must #StandTogether w/ Joshua Wong. His arrest is further evidence that the People's Republic of China is not abiding by its international treaty obligations in Hong Kong.
We must call for the release of Mr. Wong & other pro democracy advocates.

- It appears hundreds of (low wage) hospitality workers have lost their jobs.
Just two things to keep in mind before sending out a celebratory tweet.

I've been to downtown Vancouver every day this week and every time, no matter the neighborhood, I've seen people shooting up, passed out, or in a state. Needles and other paraphernalia in the street common, too. Our politicians only have two "answers:" more drugs, less judgment.
