@glenngabe To be fair, at least DDG let's users actively manage how they want AI to be a part of their search experience.
Google? Gotta hack around it.
@sengineland Would be interesting if they had asked the same 2302 people this question as they did in 2025. Wonder what the results would have been if they did. π€
@CyrusShepard "And take Google's advice with a tiny grain of salt."
I think many of us had our eyes opened after the big API leak and "drips" of knowledge since then.
@NotebookLM I really enjoy pulling together a bunch of solid sources and creating a personalized, deep dive audio overview to listen on the drive to/from work.
@DennisTheProf@lilyraynyc It's like the old Ford truck commercials. Ford claimed to be the "best selling" pickups in the US. TECHNICALLY true, if comparing Ford to Chevy or Ford to GMC. However, the facts were GM trucks (Chevy and GMC) outsold Ford trucks. Ford rigged the game for their desired outcome.
@glproductions@illyism@lilyraynyc Hmm... could this maybe lead to a different version of the "great decoupling"? Google walking back their tighter integration of Gemini/AI with traditional search? I guy can hope.
