“This is my friend's 17 year old nephew, Tanner. Yesterday he was enjoying a day at Scissortail Park with his mother and younger siblings when he noticed a person struggling in the pond. Tanner's mom said he did a quick double take then without a word he was running toward the water. She had no idea what was happening but Tanner knew someone needed him. His instincts took over and this guy saved a drowning 2 year old!!! He suffered a head injury in the process and had to have staples. Police, fire and medics responded and the child's mother cried uncontrollably with gratitude. Tanner is humble, compassionate and really does not understand how much heartbreak his actions have saved a family.”

WEEK IN REVIEW: Saturday morning, hundreds marched for Eina Kwon and her unborn child, police say she was brutally gunned down this past week in downtown #Seattle by a convicted felon in what appears to be a random crime. The Korean American mom was 32 weeks pregnant. This rally was grassroots and put together last minute by Susanna Keilman(@OhSusannaLee.) She wasn’t sure who would show up. But this tragedy struck a chord with people from all walks of life who are just sick and tired of the crime, open air drug use, and deteriorating public safety conditions in parts of this city.
The crowd also welcomed law enforcement officials including Seattle Police Chief Adrian Diaz(@SeattlePD,) Seattle Police Officer’s Guild(@SPOG1952) President Mike Solan(@realmikesolan,)
and City Attorney Ann Davison(@_Ann_Davison_.)

As the Kwon family continues to process the enormous loss and prepare for the funeral, they’re asking for privacy. But grateful for this outpouring of support.
