Three things about Trump that are unmistakable:
1. He is increasingly disconnected from reality.
2. He is increasingly desperate to convey grandiosity and avoid humiliation - this drives him.
3. His health - physical, mental, and neurological - is worsening, adding impatience.
Are we supposed to be fine w IRS audit immunity for the Trump family?
This is an obscene protection racket.
We learned yesterday Capital One shutdown Trump accounts for money laundering in 2021!!
Republicans SCREAMED their stupid fucking heads off for weeks about how the ALLEGATIONS against Platner disqualified him, but now they’ve got a guy accused by his Republican Senator ex-father in law of ABUSING his wife and toddler daughter and suddenly they’re silent???
The same old Susan Collins charade. As soon as a controversial nominee or a bill has enough votes to pass, she announces she will vote no when it doesn’t matter. She never casts a deciding vote against Trump. Now she will claim this shows how she is so “independent.”
Donald Trump stands out historically in one way. He has demilitarized the US military more quickly than any other political leader in US history.
A full blown pacifist would have struggled to throw away weapons faster than he has.
Susan Collins is going to vote against Trump for the next 2 months so that she can fool Mainers into thinking she’s independent in order to get reelected so she can vote with Trump 95% of the time next year.
Don’t fall for it.
This race is not about Republicans or Democrats, but decency and humanity.
Everywhere I go, Republicans say to me, “I’ve never voted for a Democrat before, but I’m voting for you.”
Judge Mehta's J6 Requiem
"That book is now closed. Today’s epilogue diminishes the gravity of that day, denigrates the work of the prosecutors and ... officers who secured these convictions, and excuses criminal acts that caused a centuries-long pillar of our democracy ... to buckle."
Yes, something is deeply wrong. We are shaken in very real ways by powerful forces of evil. And, those forces will not last forever because God is on his throne.
Part of the Christian life is learning to hold this tension. It isn’t easy. If you’re wrestling with it, you're not alone! Consider checking out Psalm 82 - you might feel seen.

Gen. Alexus Grynkewich, the head of U.S. European Command, sent written notification to senior Pentagon officials saying that without another operational Navy destroyer in Europe, he will be forced to choose defense of the United States “homeland” over that of Israel.
Iran and Oman are near finalizing an agreement over the Strait of Hormuz. It may open the flow of ships but would cement Iran's control over the critical waterway, leverage it did not have before the war. Details:

It’s instructive to have this Max Miller situation in such close proximity to the Platner debacle. Where are @SpeakerMcCarthy and @KellyannePolls (comical) Fox News hits crowing about how R’s get rid of abusers? Where’s @EWErickson and the rest? The hypocrisy spotlight is bright.
The corruption is stunning. This deal "shields all the Trumps and their businesses not only from enforcement of any taxes they may have dodged, or enforcement of any fines or payments they may owe to the government, but from ‘any and all’ consequences for violating any federal criminal or civil law." And @JohnCornyn and @SenThomTillis are ok with this.

Susan Collins voting against a controversial nominee is basically the moment it becomes clear that nominee will be confirmed. It means Thune has enough votes to confirm, and thus, Collins gets a pass to look independent.
NEW: Epstein survivors are blasting Sens. Cornyn and Tillis for avoiding meetings with them and ultimately, despite DOJ’s failure to reassess its evidence and account for its treatment of survivors, supporting Blanche. “They wanted us to go away,” they say.
There are so many problems with this “agreement,” which is why @JohnCornyn and @SenThomTillis should have never made this their red line. The fact that Blanche would do it in the first place was — and still is — disqualifying, even if he now (temporarily) rescinds it.
1) the ridiculous tax immunity deal still applies to all tax years up to and including this year. Remember, the lawsuit was a total sham that was withdrawn and this was an addendum that had no relevance or connection to the lawsuit “settlement.” This is literally a gratuitous and corrupt gift to Trump, and it still remains in force (at least until a new AG rescinds it, which they can do unilaterally).
2) nothing stops Blanche from doing it again once he’s confirmed under some other name. And certainly in January when Cornyn and Tillis are gone.
Blanche has demonstrated over and over that he is purely a vessel for Trump to punish his enemies and reward his “allies.” The Capitol police who were beaten and assaulted during J6 can’t even get disability but Trump wants to give those who assaulted them millions of dollars — and Blanche will make sure that happens.
Cornyn and Tillis have repeatedly been burned by Trump nominees reneging on promises they made to get confirmed (see Kash Patel). Why they take anyone’s word for anything — especially when this agreement isn’t worth the paper it’s written on — is pathetic.
Cornyn lost to an unethical extremist solely because Trump endorsed against him. Tillis didn’t run again because he knew he wouldn’t get Trump’s endorsement. Why continue to do his bidding??
