Which is ironic, given that part of Platner’s strength against oppo is that he usually integrates the true parts of the critiques and spins them into advantages, so I don’t see the benefit in misrepresenting his past when, if confronted with it, Platner himself would likely own it.
You’d literally rather be offended about a slight that you made up (that she criticized his military credentials) than just admit that she leveled a critique that you *didn’t like*, but one that is still *technically correct* regardless of her background. And I say this as someone who both supports him and would vote for him if I lived in ME.
@ZaidJilani So you’d rather double down than be intellectually honest, leaning into “support our troops” and “cosmopolitan elite” tropes when confronted with inconvenient facts.
Yeah, I thought that layer was pretty obvious, but the “being held at gunpoint” isn’t literal, it’s more that the delivery is clearly that of someone who feels uncomfortable giving the message (likely because they don’t believe in or agree with it) and is being held at *figurative* gunpoint (business incentives, social pressure) to pander (hence the seriousness in the character break at the end when she asks for the camera to be shut off).
@Scott076973722@Midnight_Sweaty I mean, if you’re gonna recommend anything, at least recommend philosophy so you’re not suggesting contradictory nonsense predicated on belief in fictional characters lmao
