@helenmakesmaps We were approached by the author in such a case and asked permission to do that. As all the data was open and they were acknowledging us in the book we agreed. Were the originators not acknowledged in the book you’re referring to?
Check out this from GLA - please use it and feedback to them what you do with it so they can get more funding to continue to do good work!

I’ll be at Esri UK @esriuk#esriukac this Tuesday in London, so please say Hi!
I’m there to learn more about AGOL, but if you catch me during a break I can tell you about the BCS and cartography at Steer if you’re looking for #bettermapping either for yourself or for clients.
Three generations 💙⚽️🤍
The Neal family and #PoshAtWembley2024
I couldn’t make it 10 years ago as Leo was only 3 days old! He came along today aged 10y and 11 days!
@TUIUK The website wasn’t working when we went on to change it. so you fix that and we’ll comply. Useless.
Thankfully your reps do a better job than the minimum standards and made it work so our children weren’t on their own and could sit beside us.
@TUIUK how can we end up with five seperate seats on a flight with three under ten year olds?? TUI seem to think a 4 year old will be fine in a seat in front of behind a parent. No they won’t. Ridiculous and ruining our holiday worrying about it.
Day 30: Favourite #30DayMapChallenge
Favourite time of the year. Who doesn’t love Christmas right? Clare made this for her son’s school fair. You have to guess where Santa dropped his presents!
Steer's analysis clearly shows this higher percentage of Ages 65+ in coastal regions and the density of hospital dots more sparse, and in some instances completely missing, from those yellow areas across the East and South-East regions.

Day 29 Population #30DayMapChallenge
Recent research shows those aged 65+ are more likely to live in rural or coastal communities and so have higher travel times to hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
Here's our analysis for the East and SE regions

Day 22: North is not always up #30DayMapChallenge
To support wayfinding, it is better to rotate the map to the way the user is facing, using landmarks to orientate themselves to the static map. In Brighton we delivered this map in several rotations to work around the hospital.
@ceren_do@The_AmericanBar@Datawrapper Great, clear map and added value with the commentary at the side! Send this to your local councillors in charge of PT to see if they start to understand
Day 4: Bad Map #30DayMapChallenge
A little game for you all... spot at least 10 things you can change on this map to make some #bettermapping
Check back on Day 14 for some insights into how to improve this map. Thanks to Clare who uses this in her cartography training at #UEL
