.@cahill2012 As your constituent, I urge you to co-sponsor the #CleanSlateNY (S.1553A/A.6399) to end perpetual punishment, address the legacy of mass incarceration, and allow New Yorkers to provide for themselves and their families.
Over 2.3 million New Yorkers have a conviction record and face barriers to housing, education and employment. Thank you @senatorhinchey for supporting #CleanSlateNY to end perpetual punishment and allow New Yorkers to provide for themselves and their families.
1/ placed an order with @BestBuy a month ago for an @LGUS wash tower. Arrived yesterday damaged. Refused it. Today they said it would be April before a new one is delivered. I asked to cancel the order so i can find a different machine. I called 5 times and got "disconnected"
7/ after an almost 1 hour hold with @BestBuy waiting for a supervisor, i hung up and called back in. Ten minutes into this call, and I'm back on hold again. Let's see what happens.
Thank you David Brownstein, New Paltz Council Member and Police Commissioner, for supporting our Police Accountability legislation! Read his #Justice4KingstonNY LTE - https://t.co/6Smg2e20kd
“If these laws had been implemented earlier, I would not have spent 2 years in jail before my case was dismissed. In Kingston people in our communities know too well the stories of being locked up for days, weeks & sometimes years because they couldn’t afford bail.” #bailreform
"People with money shouldn't be treated differently in the justice system than those without...we need pre-trial justice fully implemented in NYS!" - Shawn Pettway of @RiseUpKingston
These laws prevent basic injustices baked into the current system.
@BernieSanders@SenSanders as someone who has introduced you at rallies, knocked doors in multiple states, organized Kingston's doorknocks, and defended some of your RECENT comments, I'm disgusted you would choose to fire a black man so quickly.
If we don't give people the opportunity to change, our world can never get better.
We've been taught norms and binaries that led to our actions and beliefs. every racist, misogynistic, homophobic, oppressive, etc thought comes from somewhere, and it's our job to unlearn it.
I hate that we go digging through social media posts from a decade ago to prove someone did something wrong, and throw out all the things they've been doing right.
I'm standing with Darius. All day eeeryday.

Darius Khalil Gordon is not who he was in high school. He has devoted his adult life to inclusion, solidarity & movement building. He should be shown the grace given to undeserving white men every day.
