@ryanboothops @oliviercantin I taught in high poverty, low achieving schools for 5 years and I can count on one hand the number of parents I met who didn’t care. Most parents were some combination of illiterate / impoverished / working three jobs, not there at night. They all wanted better for their kids.

@edinhelp We have some mystery neighbours who keep leaving “gifts” in our building’s private bin store. Last month was a toilet, now it’s a decomposing mattress (yuck!). Definitely not from our building. What are our options for dealing with this?

@HambrickScott I’m interested in the implications of this for k-12 education. How can teachers have any chance of being relevant? Surely the foundations of literacy and numeracy and critical thinking are still there, but curriculum design becomes really challenging in this reality.

Anyone else having a horrible time with the new @Sonos app update? Ours are completely unusable now - the white noise I used for my baby his whole life cuts in and out and stops randomly, playlists are gone, search just spins and spins. About to give up on the whole system.

@aspiringpeasant I do not listen to true-crime podcasts, I’ve lived in big cities most of my life, I walk alone at night. I refuse to let fear impact my ability to live my life. But I agree with her - men should not approach women in parking lots.
