What does MEV look like in the modular stack?
We were joined by folks from @SkipProtocol, @dualityxyz, and @AstriaOrg to explore:
• MEV capture and distribution
• MEV extraction in the modular stack
• Sovereignty over MEV

Introducing Celestia Spotlight, a series where we hear from the people at the forefront of the modular movement 🧱
For the first episode, we welcome @neelsomani from @EclipseFND!
@consensus128 Yes, this would likely need to happen at some point. It also solves the same bottleneck that statelessness suffers from, so it opens up an even more interesting design space for secure light nodes.
The next step is light node wallets. At that point, users will be contributing to security and decentralization without manually needing to spin up their own node. Your favorite monoliths aren't thinking about this
We can secure so many sovereign chains w/ @CelestiaOrg, that I'm excited not just for app specific chains, but "instance" specific chains.
instead of one app chain for all instances (GitHub), we can have a chain per instance (git repo)
@attertweet @ColeSouth Bitcoin has nowhere near enough DA capacity to be useful or scalable. To increase DA capacity, a block size increase is necessary, which would never happen. As such, rollups can't help Bitcoin - has to be something like a validium with off-chain DA.
@epolynya Veblen good implies that users demand more blockspace when its price increases. In reality, users will continue to demand blockspace until EV is breakeven or negative (fee + mint = $0 future profit)
@LoganJastremski Blockspace refers to block capacity
Layer 2s have their transactions directly validated by an L1, accounting for much more than transaction compression.
Data availability is concerned with data being available when it is published to the network.
