Growth mindset is the ability to derive pleasure (modulating dopamine) from friction — the effort and strain process — rather than the reward/end goal. Deep work/flow state is carrying that momentum through continuous, and increasingly effortless, cycles of agitation over time.
Just finished the @nytimes podcast on Satoshi. Thought John Carreyrou’s evidence was weak... then Adam Back started talking and immediately dug himself a hole. Someone get Mr. Back—er, Mr. Nakamoto—a PR consultant. ₿
There are gangs in LA deliberately starting fires so that people evacuate then and they can rob their homes
This is happening at a large scale, at least 100 robbers
Likely the Chilean crime syndicate
California has the highest state taxes in the country, and the profit engine of tech
But Gavin Newsom is so focused on protecting the state from Donald Trump that he forgot to focus on fires

This comes down to basic human psychology. The polls have made it abundantly clear: most Americans reject this current administration’s policies and it largely as a failure. Harris as president is just more of the same. It’s time for change.
The dishonesty of Joe Biden’s campaign, denying what tens of millions of people saw with their own eyes, provokes contempt.
Americans deserve a better choice. The president should withdraw from the campaign https://t.co/LToAxK4HFY 👇
You guys both, @piersmorgan, @BillAckman, are so consumed with pandering to your twitter followers, you have lost all objectivity.
I’ll let you both in on a secret.
BOTH CANDIDATES ARE OLD. VERY OLD.
They both are going to have senior moments, mis-remember, forget things and have physical frailties.
I’ll tell you a not so secret secret:
One is great at soundbites, but also thinks in soundbites.
The other is awful at soundbites, but thinks in complete sentences.
Voters will decide which we prefer
This report details some deeply disturbing instances of private-label supply chain QC failures by @cvspharmacy, the largest US pharmacy (by market share), who is seemingly turning a blind eye.
Dozens of generic drugs sold under the CVS Health brand label were recalled & public records expose link to tainted factories. $CVS hired at least 15 manufacturers cited 4 manufacturing problems > twice as many as Walgreens. https://t.co/CGtfLElz1r by @annaedney@petermrobison
This is yet another example that goes to show the erosion of QA/QC at @Apple in recent years. I’ve been burned by critical bugs too many items and Apple is no longer a company I trust.
Apple’s Screen Time parental controls are broken, and it feels like an afterthought for the company.
The latest example? Two security researchers have been reporting a bug to Apple since 2021 that lets kids visit blocked sites.
Only after I called did Apple say it would be fixed in the next software update.

The most senior Israeli commander "dismissed for his role in the drone strike which killed seven aid workers" for World Central Kitchen in Gaza "is a settler who signed an open letter in January calling for the territory to be deprived of aid." https://t.co/74glVxM1RL
The seven angels killed on a @WCKitchen mission in Gaza on Monday were the best of humanity.
The Israeli government needs to open more land routes for food and medicine today. It needs to stop killing civilians and aid workers today. It needs to start the long journey to peace today.
You cannot save the hostages by bombing every building in Gaza. You cannot win this war by starving an entire population. https://t.co/atgx5cvioa
As people get older and have less energy, there's often a drive to make things more predictable. But the most important thing you can do for your brain: put it in novel situations and give it novel challenges. #Livewired

Russians are back leaving flowers at the memorial to political prisoners following Navalny's death. It looks like the police have been told to toughen up. 15 people arrested already, per @sotaproject https://t.co/M3dC4tyHOx
