This is wise and sharply observed. An antidote to this week’s AI panic.
“There is not a single venture capitalist on Earth who would fund a redwood or a sequoia. Too slow. Not scalable.”
@AshFarms@robinhoodlego It is incongruent. But expected. Jesus warned that “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15 ESV Woke is just the latest attempt to bend our religious instincts to the will to power.
@AshFarms From what you described, you’re looking for what is often called a “Bible Church.” Often non-denominational (fancy-pants for governed locally), these days most Bible churches sing contemporary worship music and teach the Bible with “expository” preaching.
@benspringwater@matter Matter is a phenomenal product. I’ve become a big fan since discovering it several months ago. It was an instant purchase for me once I tried it and I hope to be a user for many years to come. Thank you for your thoughtful leadership and perseverance.

Here’s a key point about our mission at DOGE: eliminating bureaucratic regulations isn’t a mere policy preference. It’s a legal *mandate* from the U.S. Supreme Court:
- West Virginia v. EPA (2022) held that agencies cannot decide major questions of economic or political significance without "clear congressional authorization." This applies to *thousands* of rules that never passed Congress.
- In Loper Bright v. Raimondo (2024), the Court ended Chevron deference, which means agencies can't foist their own interpretations of the law onto the American people. Over 18,000 federal cases cited the Chevron doctrine, often to uphold regulations, many of which are now null & void.
- In SEC v. Jarkesy (2024), SCOTUS restricted the use of "administrative law judges" by agencies. The same agency that wrote the rules shouldn't be able to prosecute citizens in “courts” that it controls.
- In Corner Post v. Board of Governors (2024), the Court held that new businesses can challenge old regulations, greatly expanding the statute of limitations & opening many more rules up for scrutiny. So we shouldn't just look at rules passed in the last 4 years, but over the past 4 decades (or more).
DOGE is ready help the U.S. government conform to the U.S. Constitution once again. @elonmusk and I are ready to serve. 🇺🇸
This is roughly what's going on with the left and the right right now.
The Left
The left is mostly made of people who just want to get their way all the time without having to take any risk or put in any effort or listen to what anyone else thinks (retarded psychopaths). They characterize this as "making the world a better place."
Some of them have college degrees. They believe this makes them intelligent and therefore correct. It doesn't.
There are also a few sheltered, naive normies on the left who just gosh dilly dang don't get it yet. Shucks-a-loo, it just sure does seem to them like a lot of kids are comin' out trans these days, but I guess if science says it, it must be true. Why would they lie?
Then you have your "Classical Liberals," who never called themselves that before 2014. They used to just say "Democrat." Then things got weird. They don't wanna change their minds or anything! They just want to have the same beliefs they used to have, vote the same way they used to vote, pretend that this all still makes sense, and grill.
Then there are the regular psychopaths, who deftly manipulate the silliness and chaos of the rest. Most of them work for the DNC or in bureaucratic government positions.
The Right
The left mostly thinks that the right is absolutely either evil or stupid or both. They are only aware of two kinds of people on the right: NASCAR rednecks and corporate snakes.
"Nazi," surprisingly, is not even classified by the left as a third type - they just assume that "Nazi" is a subset of "redneck."
If you expand those two caricatures into the groups they're derived from, you get your "country" republicans and your "stock market" republicans. These groups do constitute a large portion of the right.
What the left is not aware of - and amazingly, cannot become aware of - is the "former leftists" segment. These are the people who never thought they'd be voting red, but could no longer ignore how ridiculous the left had become. They did not want to be surrounded by retarded psychopaths. These are mostly converts from the "sheltered" leftist section.
A small section of that group includes a scrappy band of intrepid, self-educating philosopher types who have looked behind the curtain and seen the machinations of power from the eyes of God himself and are trying desperately to translate this wisdom into useful instructions for the masses before humanity is doomed.
(That's me. I am a misunderstood genius and I hold the keys to the golden kingdom which must be turned by the hearts of each man and woman before the veil has lifted.)
The reason that the left can never become aware of this third group is because of their self-inflicted retardation. The information, understanding, and perspective necessary to know that the "former leftists" group even exists in the first place will transform a retarded psychopath into a former leftist.
This is why they stick their fingers in their ears and go "la la la can't hear you" whenever you tell them about big pesky facts and other such bothers that make fools of them. They can't be foolish if they didn't know! They can't know if they didn't hear! And they can't hear if they shut you up! Hence all the censorship of the last 10 years.
Screaming Secrets
This is why the left and the right can't talk. All of the sensible leftists have exited the party, and the ones that remain are the ones best suited for ignoring reality, like how bacteria resist antibiotics.
You can blast all the information in their faces - put it on billboards, run commercials, text it to them. Somehow, they won't remember you ever saying that. Why didn't you tell them?
What Now?
I'm not sure what happens from here. Best-case scenario is that the right cleans up the messes the left made and the leftoids who stayed behind gradually find opportunities to just... say that they were republicans all along.
They're not above that. Most of them are only playing a part to fit in anyway. They'll be easy to spot - they'll be the ones dressed like NASCAR Nazis.
