WHAT’S A SRI DOG, you ask? Shimmy over to my ⚡️new blog ⚡️ @medium & you’ll see that I’ve spent an inordinate time thinking about why SL street dogs deserve a more worthy name! https://t.co/PppKYd4Kor @RajashreeKhalap @Abhadra7 @arboyko @embarkvet

@deshan10 🙏🏽 Would just like to add that should you own a Lankan street dog, some of it still applies - mental enrichment is important for all dogs. They all just need the freedom to dog. Keep ‘em busy!

[Soharni Tennekoon @ceylonstreetdog]

@insighthound2 Thank you, I didn’t think about this aspect of working dogs today - what an awful way to treat a sentient being

Read 21st Century Dog by canine behaviourist Elsa Weiss on dog origins & functions and the context in which the keep dogs today. Penned a few of my thoughts. Comments welcome!

@caninecognition Who put the idiots in charge again

Called my 3yo a marshmallow today and she looked at me disapprovingly and said, “I’m not a marshmallow; marshmallows DONT HAVE BONES IN THEIR BODIES.” Never felt more proud and more foolish at once 😂

@RebeccaSear @AMCELL Bless! @deshan10

@Naomi_D_Harvey I tend not to walk my 3 ex-street dogs at night since they’re definitely more alert & excitable; there’s a higher chance of them running into mice, street cats or other street dogs and this tends to activate their prey drive (and I end up being dragged around like a rag doll!)

We should be talking about pet ownership and climate change more - we have so many things to do to improve practices as well as prepare the pet-owning public to the eventual significant world changes to preserve companion animal welfare https://t.co/Agf0tOewJL via @ubcnews

Proper attention to the problem of dog bites requires the study of regulatory alternatives that will root out the causes of the problem — often relating to guardian behavior — rather than the symptoms. https://t.co/Wcv5cZC7tQ

@urbanfishingcat So cool. Congratulations! 🎉

GOOD NEWS: I’m officially #AstraZeneca double vaxxed! BAD NEWS: when I told George, this is how he responded, and now I fear I’ve somehow raised an anti-vaxxer

Announcing a very exciting project that’s been in the works for a while: The Dog Rehoming Project! “Bridging the gap between science and the people who need it, to put science behind dog sheltering and dog rehoming.”

The #AstraZeneca 2nd dose vaccine drive appears to be utter chaos.

1.5 years of dealing with the virus, 7 months since the first vaccine was given and the SL Government is still clueless on how to do something competently.

More #Viyathmaga technocrap please!
