@Sam75614812@missrobinson Yes. The nearest beach is 500m from my front door. About the same distance as 2 supermarkets albeit in the opposite direction. The lake is a 10 min drive but with 7 beaches between me and it, I never bother. Nothing about a walkable city says you can't have a car as well.
@KobieThatcher What's unAustralian?
For those that come across the seas, we've boundless plains to share.
It's in the anthem. We welcome people.
I've been in Muslim, Hindu & Buddhist countries at Xmas and they've had displays and events for that. Why should we be any different?
@ImSooooOverIt@mark16pg Can't think of any billionaires in private jets preaching climate change. Can think of some doing the opposite though.
The science however clearly shows it occurring beyond any doubt.
I've still yet to see those that disagree provide any science that shows it's "bollocks".
@ImSooooOverIt@mark16pg It's one thing to not understand something, but to willingly keep repeating the nonsense when a couple of minutes spent reading an article would clear everything up, is another thing entirely.
@ImSooooOverIt@mark16pg If you actually clicked on the image and read the article you'd see that why it's not AI, and you could have saved yourself from all that nonsense you posted.
@ImSooooOverIt@mark16pg The oil is used for lubrication, and a wind turbine becomes carbon neutral in 5-8 months. With a lifespan of up to 25 years, a single wind turbine saves 150 000 tonnes of coal and associated emissions. As an added bonus, it's a lot cheaper at generating electricity.
@ImSooooOverIt@mark16pg Coal mines and oil drilling are an order or two of magnitude more destructive. Wind and solar coexists with agriculture and forests. Coal and oil don't.
@ImSooooOverIt@mark16pg I thought I'd give you the benefit of the doubt and proceed as if you just didn't understand the science. But it's pretty obvious you're just a conspiracy theorist who parrots others and willfully posts complete fabrications.
@ImSooooOverIt@mark16pg The atmosphere doesn't care where the CO2 comes from. The natural sources are balanced by sinks and have been throughout human history. That balance no longer exists and it's human actions that are the cause of that. There's no credible scientific dispute over that.
@ImSooooOverIt@mark16pg Th natural greenhouse effect - that 97% of 0.4% CO2 you mention plus water vapour and a couple of other trace gases has given humans a stable climate throughout history.
That 3% is what's already warmed it by almost 1.5C to levels humans have never experienced.
@ImSooooOverIt@mark16pg H20 is mostly localised and not a human factor.
That 97% CO2 you mention gives approx 280ppm throughout human history. It is balanced by natural absorption. Your 3% is misleading because that's the entirety that doesn't have natural sinks. And that's why CO2 is now about 430ppm
@ImSooooOverIt@mark16pg Human actions have caused temperatures to rise, this has been observed, measured, verified and there is no scientific doubt. Said temp rises have caused changed weather patterns and events. This has been observed, measured, verified and there is no scientific doubt.
