Ole Miss has completely fallen apart down the stretch, going 1-9 in its last ten and looking like a team that has already thrown in the towel on the season. The numbers back it up as well, ranking just 196th in offensive rating and 254th in defensive rating. Texas hasn’t been great defensively either, but they make up for it with a top-20 offense that can create separation quickly when the shots start falling. More importantly, the motivation edge clearly sits with Texas as they still have something to play for, while Ole Miss is simply trying to limp to the finish line. Texas does have some weaknesses in the frontcourt, but Ole Miss doesn’t have the size or skill to consistently attack that area, which neutralizes the matchup concern. With Texas’ strong guard play likely able to get to their spots all night, this feels like a game where a run or two puts Ole Miss away for good. Gladly laying the five here.
