Romania shows solidarity via humanitarian assistance. It is in this spirit that, alongside our EU partners, we have decided to support the civilian population in Lebanon, severely affected by the current security crisis in the Middle East.
Today, 15 tons of humanitarian aid from the National State Reserves of Romania - food, tents, and essential shelter items - departed for Amman, aboard two aircraft of the Romanian Air Force @MApNRomania. This operation reflects the capacity for rapid response, as well as our effective interinstitutional national and European cooperation.
From Jordan, the humanitarian aid will reach Beirut, Lebanon, as part of a multinational humanitarian convoy.
The decision to provide this assistance was adopted within the National Committee for Emergency Situations, in response to the request transmitted through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, which also covers 75% of transport costs.
Romania reaffirms its commitment to supporting those in need.

In the context of the recent security developments in the Middle East region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is continuously monitoring the situation of Romanian citizens in the area and maintains constant contact with our teams in Romania’s diplomatic missions and consular offices in the region.

In order to operationally manage security, political and consular aspects, the MFA Crisis Cell has been convened.

Romania’s diplomatic and consular staff in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Ramallah and Tehran are safe and continue their activity in support of Romanian citizens.

Given the deterioration of the situation, starting yesterday we decided the voluntary withdrawal of non-essential personnel and their family members.

We reiterate the strong recommendation addressed to Romanian citizens to avoid any travel to the State of Israel (travel alert level 8 out of 9 – AVOID ALL TRAVEL):

Romanian citizens already present in Israel are advised to:
* follow the instructions issued by the local authorities;
* take shelter in specially designated protected areas when air raid alarms are activated;
* avoid travel near border areas with Lebanon, Syria and the Gaza Strip;
* avoid crowded areas and public demonstrations.

At present, Israeli airspace is closed, with no clear estimate regarding the resumption of commercial flights.

Romanian citizens in Israel are kindly requested to contact the Embassy of Romania in Tel Aviv or the Consulate General of Romania in Haifa, notify their presence and provide their contact details in order to receive assistance in emergency situations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also recommends downloading the “Travel Safely” (Călătoreşte informat) application (https://t.co/v4XELVeYM4), which provides travel information and advice.

Am avut o excelentă întrevedere cu Primarul Parisului, Anne Hidalgo, cu care am discutat despre numeroasele proiecte româno-franceze de cooperare în domeniul economiei, al educației. Am evocat desigur și teme care privesc comunitatea românească din capitala Franței.

Bucureștiul și Parisul sunt asociate prin numeroase legături culturale și istorice, prin arhitectură și artă. Astăzi ne dorim să orientăm cooperarea noastră către viitor, prin economie, educație și tehnologii avansate, pentru a găsi soluții la provocările de dezvoltare a marilor orașe.

Am fost amândoi de acord că românii care trăiesc în Paris au un rol important, de catalizator al cooperării româno-franceze. Am convenit că e important să le oferim susținere pentru a încuraja astfel dezvoltarea legăturilor dintre țările noastre.

I-am transmis aprecierea mea pentru decizia de a da numele marelui diplomat român Nicolae Titulescu unei alei din frumosul Parc Monceau, din Paris, pe care am inaugurat-o astăzi împreună. Este cel mai nou loc memorial din șirul bogat al prezențelor românești în capitala Franței. În aceste timpuri, în care nu întrevedem încă sfârșitul războiului de agresiune al Rusiei împotriva Ucrainei, am ales să aducem un omagiu eforturilor lui Nicolae Titulescu care, ca președinte al Societății Națiunilor, s-a luptat neobosit ca negocierea să ia locul agresiunii, iar pacea și rațiunea să triumfe în fața violenței.

Digital and technology-facilitated violence disproportionately affects women in public life (journalists, politicians, activists), young women, girls and people who face intersecting forms of discrimination, including those from racial or ethnic minorities, LGBTIQ+ communities and persons with disabilities.

The EU’s external action, including in the context of Ukraine, the Western Balkans, the Southern Neighbourhood and beyond, integrates digital safety and women’s empowerment into security, governance and reconstruction efforts.

🇷🇴 România obține o nouă victorie la ONU!

Cu 109 voturi în Adunarea Generală a ONU, România a câștigat competiția internațională pentru un post de judecător la Tribunalul ONU pentru Dispute (UNDT).

Funcția va fi preluată de judecătoarea Adina Elvira-Ghiță, profesionistă cu peste 17 ani de experiență, care își va începe mandatul de 7 ani în iulie 2026.

Ministrul Afacerilor Externe, Oana Țoiu, subliniază că succesul se datorează profesionalismului românesc și unei campanii diplomatice riguroase, derulate împreună cu Consiliul de Justiție Internă al ONU.

La rândul său, Adina Elvira-Ghiță a mulțumit pentru sprijin și a promis că își va reprezenta țara cu onoare.
