First thing when you didn't need card then why you accepted the offer? Don't fool public.

Because my wife has her salary account with @TheOfficialSBI, about a year ago some local SBI officials almost fell over themselves trying to persuade her to take a credit card.

She kept resisting, but eventually agreed on one condition: she would decide whether to activate it after receiving the card. We were specifically told that there would be no fee if the card was not activated, and that there would be no charges during the first year in any case.

The card arrived. She never opened it. It remained sealed in the original envelope for almost a year.

Then, one evening few days ago, she suddenly received a message saying that ₹3,538 would be auto-debited from her account the next day.

She immediately contacted the official who had persuaded her to take the card. The official was equally surprised and even visited our home to see for herself that the card was still sealed in its original envelope. My wife had never activated or used the card.

The official helped her connect with SBI's online helpline, where she was assured that the amount would be reversed within a few days. The next day ₹3,538 was deducted from her account.

Today, five days after, however, my wife received a message saying that her request for annual fee reversal of ₹2,999 had been approved.

So what happened to the remaining ₹539 that was deducted?

Even the SBI official who helped us has no explanation for this deduction.

What kind of “dadagiri” is this, @SBICard_Connect?

First, you charge a customer for a card that was never activated or used. Then, when the customer complains, you reverse only a part of the amount deducted -without explaining the balance.

This is simply not acceptable.

@TheOfficialSBI @SBICard_Connect, please take cognisance of this matter immediately, explain the ₹539 deduction, and ensure that the entire amount deducted is refunded.

A bank cannot build customer trust by making customers fight to get back money they should never have been charged in the first place.

कालपर्यंत Flu साधाच वाटत होता…
आज अचानक एवढं कसं बिघडलं?

आज एका elderly H1N1 patient जो ventilator वर आहे , त्यांच्या relatives ची Second Opinion साठी request आली.

अशा cases पाहिल्यावर एक गोष्ट पुन्हा ठामपणे सांगावीशी वाटते

Flu बहुतेकांना साधा जाऊ शकतो.
पण वृद्ध किंवा आधीपासून आजार असलेल्या व्यक्तीत सुरुवातीचे 24-48 तास दुर्लक्ष करण्याचे नसतात.

गंभीर होण्याची सुरुवात नेहमी मोठ्या दमानेच होत नाही.

1️⃣ कोणी जास्त काळजी घ्यायची?

लक्षात ठेवा

वय 65+ किंवा कोणत्याही वयात Diabetes , Heart disease , Asthma/COPD , Kidney/Liver disease , खूप जास्त obesity , Cancer/कमी immunity , Pregnancy.

यांच्यात Flu गंभीर होण्याचा धोका जास्त असतो.

2️⃣ अशा व्यक्तीला Flu symptoms आले? लवकर Doctor शी बोला.

“दोन दिवस बघूया, मग test करू” हा approach प्रत्येकासाठी योग्य नाही.

High-risk किंवा worsening patient मध्ये Doctor H1N1 report ची वाट न पाहता antiviral treatment सुरू करण्याचा निर्णय घेऊ शकतात.

Oseltamivir सारखी औषधं शक्यतो लवकर, विशेषतः पहिल्या 48 तासांत, अधिक फायदेशीर असतात; severe/hospitalized illness मध्ये उशिरा सुरू केल्यावरही फायदा होऊ शकतो.

3️⃣ घरच्यांनी दिवसातून काही वेळा फक्त हे बघावं 👇🏻

श्वास कालपेक्षा वाढलाय?
अशक्तपणा खूप वाढलाय?
खाणं-पिणं कमी झालंय?
लघवी कमी झालीय?
गुंगी, गोंधळ किंवा वागण्यात बदल आहे?

वृद्धांमध्ये ताप कमी असतानाही illness गंभीर असू शकतो.

4️⃣ थोडं बरं वाटलं → पुन्हा ताप/खोकला वाढला → दम सुरू झाला.

हा Pattern विशेष लक्षात ठेवा
हे साधं “Flu परत आलं” म्हणून सोडू नका.
Pneumonia किंवा दुसरी complication तपासण्याची वेळ असू शकते.

5️⃣ नवीन/वाढता दम , बोलतानाही दम , chest pain/pressure , खूप गुंगी/confusion , उठता-चालता न येण्याइतका weakness , लघवी खूप कमी , निळसरपणा etc

असल्यास hospital admission ला उशीर नको

अशावेळी घरात Oxygen मोजत बसण्यापेक्षा patient तपासला जाणं महत्त्वाचं.

6️⃣ आणि एक महत्त्वाची गोष्ट , Treatment म्हणजे “Antibiotic + HRCT” नाही.

H1N1 हा virus आहे; Antibiotic virus वर काम करत नाही. Bacterial infection चा संशय असेल तर Doctor त्याची गरज ठरवतात.

प्रत्येक patient ला HRCT करूनच severity समजते असंही नाही.

योग्य वेळी clinical examination, oxygen/respiratory assessment, antiviral आणि गरजेनुसार investigations ही खरी priority.

High-risk Flu मध्ये Report पेक्षा आधी Patient चा Trend बघा ,
कालपेक्षा आज बरा आहे की खालावत आहे?
हा एक प्रश्न अनेकदा पुढचा निर्णय वेळेत घ्यायला मदत करतो.
