Just got back from our beach house about an hour ago. It’s not the only place we go with the kids, but it’s definitely one of their favorites. Restaurants they know, tourist traps they look forward to, and beds they think of as their own. It’ll go down as probably the worst investment we make financially, but the best for the memories.

@aarondfrancis Non stop football! Taking my 10YO to the Spain v France semifinal. He doesn’t know yet. Super excited for him to figure it out when I pick him up early from camp.
I’m a bit disappointed in the play tonight. It wasn’t to the level we have shown in this World Cup. But still proud of the team and excited for the future. Keep building and keep Poch. @USMNT
I love this Cape Verde side. Unlucky for them to draw Argentina. That was by far the best match of this World Cup so far. Hold your heads high, fellas!

Aside from the fact that people don’t like to pay taxes, I think the argument has emotional appeal because most people pay property taxes via escrow. They view it as part of their mortgage payment, and once the mortgage has been paid off that should be the end of it.
Withholding causing many people to view tax refunds as bonus money is probably related to this instinct. The less immediately visible a tax is, the easier it is to build an incorrect mental model about what it is, what it’s for, etc.
