You know what the biggest problem with pushing all-things-AI is? Wrong direction.
I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes.
“Nature remains; to bring out from their torpid recesses, the affinities of a man or woman with the open air, the trees, fields, the changes of seasons—the sun by day and the stars of heaven by night.”
— Walt Whitman

"Whenever I’m feeling like I need to prioritize what I’m doing or overthinking a particular situation that is making me anxious, I try to remember this great exchange in the film Bridge of Spies. Tom Hanks, who plays a lawyer, asks his client, who is being accused of being a spy, 'Aren’t you worried?' His answer: 'Would it help?' I always think, 'Would it help?' That is the pivotal question that I ask myself every day. If you put everything through that prism, it is a remarkably effective way to cut through the clutter." — @andrewrsorkin in Tribe of Mentors
"If you want me to go all in on you, you better be all in on what we're doing together. If you're not all in, if you are only kinda into it, I don't want to work with you."

“An old friend of mine, a journalist, once said that paradise on earth was to work all day alone in anticipation of an evening in interesting company.”
― Ian McEwan, Machines Like Me
Goals are overrated. You don't know if a goal is achievable. You don't know if a goal is even desirable. The value in having goals is that they trick you into taking action.
People rarely continue to give time to things that don’t create any value.
If they continue to give time to things that appear frivolous, we should suspend judgement and see what value is that frivolous thing is creating.
Population density thread because you and I both know you have nothing better to do.
Let's start with this cool way to visualize population density, by @undertheraedar. The height of each spike displays the population density in that location.
