Absolute chaos at a NEET-PG centre in Jaipur!

Candidates reportedly faced a server/system shutdown after the exam began, while others remained outside allegedly discussing questions.

Why does NBEMS conduct a career-defining national exam without basic contingencies—backup servers, spare systems and a clear emergency protocol?

Students prepare for years. NBEMS must prepare for technical failure. This is not an inconvenience; it directly threatens the fairness and integrity of the examination.

Immediate clarification and accountability are required!

Toxicity in medical residency is so normalised that even when a resident’s legs are swollen, bandaged, and he’s dealing with cellulitis, the response isn’t concern~
it’s “take 1–2 hours of rest and get back to work.”

My friend from another medical college sent me this picture.

This is what residency has become:
your body can break, your health can deteriorate, but the duty roster must never be disturbed.

We have somehow turned suffering into a qualification.

“Our college has worse shifts.”
“We survived it, so you can too.”
“Just 1–2 hours of rest.”
“Patients come first.”

No. This isn’t dedication.
This is institutionalised exploitation disguised as medical training.

And the worst part?
The seniors and consultants who have the authority to stop it often become so desensitised that a resident literally collapsing in front of them is treated as an inconvenience to the schedule.

A doctor’s suffering should never be the price of becoming a doctor.

🚨Is SEBI an investor DESTRUCTION body? It fiercely AVOIDS refering serious criminal offences to police and special court. It HAS FAILED INVESTORS AND WILL CONTINUE TO FAIL UNLESS it sets right the "internal scam" which prevents criminal reference.😡

Promoters continue to divert IPO funds due to SEBI😡 supporting the thieves, by not filing FIR. Investors keep asking why criminals are not ARRESTED? Not ARRESTED because of SEBI indirectly protecting criminals. 🚨

Instead, SEBI takes years to complete enquiry, imposes some fine and story gets buried.

Why so many vacancies?

Shocking thing is that the sanctioned strength itself has been reduced in some hospitals. But why? Has the patient load come down? No chance.

Government doesn’t have funds to fill these vacancies as all money has been already spent on freebies and high voltage election campaigns. Even if there is any surplus, that money shall be used for future advertisement works and freebies.

Advantages of such huge vacancies

· Only keeping such huge vacancies will ensure resident doctors work 24 - 96 hours without food and sleep for legitimate interest of patients

· Only keeping such huge vacancies will ensure PG medical students either commit suicide or quit the course or become psychiatric patients

· Only keeping such huge vacancies will ensure resident doctors are assaulted by patients who never understand about workload and long duty hours of doctors

· Only keeping such huge vacancies will ensure to maintain the image of doctors as arrogant and cruel in public perception

· Only keeping such huge vacancies will ensure resident doctors can be exploited to do job of nurses, ward boy, X-ray technician and everything, except that of doctors

· Only keeping such huge vacancies will ensure theoretical subjects are not taught in PG & SS due to shortage of faculty
· Only keeping such huge vacancies will ensure quality of patient care gets diluted and doctors are blamed for that

· Only keeping such huge vacancies will ensure poor patients get frustrated by misdiagnosis, / wrong treatment, delayed treatment and move to corporate hospital

· Only keeping such huge vacancies will ensure PG students crumble under heavy workload and get heartburns & suicidal thoughts

· Only keeping such huge vacancies will ensure toxic senior doctors feel like sultans and abuse young doctors to any extent whenever they see

· Only keeping such huge vacancies will keep dream of a permanent jobs for future aspirants so that craze on doctor profession remains same

🚨 THIS IS NOT RESIDENCY. THIS IS EXPLOITATION.

An anonymous resident from M.P. Shah Government Medical College, Jamnagar, Gujarat has reached out alleging:

• 40–44 hours of continuous duty with barely 6 hours to sleep
• During “double emergency” — allegedly 60 HOURS continuously, without even 2 hours of proper rest
• Workload claimed to reach ~140 HOURS/WEEK
• Allegedly not even ONE day off in an entire month
• Juniors allegedly expected to pay for seniors’ breakfast
• Residents fear speaking up—and allege that after complaints, they are made to sign statements saying “everything is okay”
• And if they want to quit? A reported ₹30–40 LAKH seat-leaving penalty can effectively trap them.

After recent ragging-related tragedies, HOW MANY MORE WARNINGS DO WE NEED?

Doctors are human beings, not bonded labour.

These are serious allegations and deserve an immediate, independent investigation by the Gujarat health authorities—with protection for residents who speak up.

If even half of this is true, heads need to roll. Silence is complicity.

Dear fellow Indians, Please help suffering first year PG medical students of BJ Government Medical College Pune

First year PG residents of this college are forced to work 36-100 hours at a stretch with no week off

Also they are forced to stay at hostel which is inside hospital premises

Last month I received complaints from a few first year PG medical students of BJ GMC, Pune and filed three complaints on CPGRAM to various relevant bodies. Also filed a complaint with National human Rights Commission. But still they are under process.

Today I sent complaint directly to CMO, Maharashtra and state Human rights commission of Maharashtra

I kindly request every doctor associations, individuals & well-wishers of doctors community to use all means available at their disposal to ensure work-life balance for these children

I was informed the seat leaving penalty is 30 lakh which makes the situation harder for these young doctors

Long hours hurting resident docs’ mental health, NMC tells Supreme Court

Does it affect only mental health? What about the physical health? Does it remain intact in multiple 24 – 36 hour shifts?

NMC tells this as if it has done a very big research whereas anyone with common sense knows that long duty hours will affect every human being.

Dear all fellow Indians & PG medicine aspirants, let me share with you the very  happy news that JIPMER is making sincere efforts for a work – life balance of junior resident doctors. Following the meeting of all HoDs chaired by the Dean (Academics) on 23 April 2026, few guidelines were issued by department of medicine on 30 June 2026

Have a look at the points mentioned in the instructions. Sincere & wonderful!! The medicine department has done in-depth analysis of root causes of long duty hours and issued few instructions to unit chief & all faculty members

All instruction mentioned are pragmatic, logical and praiseworthy & will definitely ensure a work-life balance to our PG children without compromising patients’ care

Ground Reality

Spoke to a few junior residents of Ortho & surgery departments. They feel some considerable changes. Even though a week off is not a guaranteed one, they are not having cruel illegitimate 36 hours duties as in the past which is a major point towards eliminating toxicity.

They do complain about high workload. But at least they are able to leave for the hostel late at night rather than staying at the ward for the next day.

Also they tell that the management is interacting with them to fix issues. Very happy news!! In the past 30 years of India’s medical education history none heard the sufferings of PG students

JIPMER has started it. Also HoD has given 30 days’ time frame to unit chiefs & faculty to implement this fully which is today.

We can’t expect the system to respond / change 100% in a month. But JIPMER has started it. We all can hope JIPMER will be free of toxicity and no PG will quit / need psychiatric counselling due to professional reasons

AIIMS & All other colleges shall follow the path of JIPMER to ensure a humane residency that is good for doctors community as well as for a quality patient care

Let’s congratulate JIPMER management , Dean &  medicine HoD once again for his sincere efforts

Can anyone tell the secret?

AIIMS is conducting NORCET to fill 2218 posts of nursing officers at various medical colleges & hospitals on permanent role with a salary will be Rs 94,000 – Rs 1,15,000 (Gross)

Such permanent posts for Diploma & BSc nurses are filled every year in thousand numbers

But how the AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, NIMHANS & other hospitals have sufficient funds to pay nursing officers till age 60 and no fund to hire MBBS & PG medicine graduates on permanent roles?

Why cruel & inhumane discrimination?

Why are Resident Doctor Associations & faculty associations tight tipped and contended with just temporary non-academic JRs & SR roles with a low consolidated pay??

Don’t UG & PG medicine graduates deserve permanent jobs at AIIMS & other medical colleges?
