@joybhattacharj Paying Property is mysteriously complicated in India; the online sites are a hit and miss at best ! This year the Karnataka state IT department in its wisdom has disabled logging in from international IP address . Why? Security risk 🙄

In the early seventies, a young lady doing her MFA at the Yale School of Drama felt so overworked that she decided to switch to law. On the day of her interview, she slept in due to exhaustion.
She saw it as a sign & stayed with dramatics and acting. 21 Academy nominations & 3 Academy Awards later, Meryl Streep is still going strong.
But even the greatest actor of our times had doubts during her journey!
Mary Louise 'Meryl' Streep was born on this day in 1949.

What could a man have done so utterly important that he was given a medal of honour by an emperor who was at war with his country.
But Edward Jenner was such a man, developing the process of modern vaccination and regarded as the man who saved more lives than any other human.
In the 18th century around 10% of the population would die annually from smallpox before Jenner figured a vaccine using the less lethal cowpox
Jenner was an Englishman, but one of the first countries to adopt vaccination was France under Napoleon, who vaccinated his entire army.
Britain & France were at war but Jenner was still awarded a medal by Napoleon. And when Jenner once wrote to Napoleon during the period 1803–5 a requesting the release of two English prisoners of war, Napoleon is reputed to have said: “Ah, Jenner, I can refuse him nothing.”

@narendramodi This is an amazing development…. Netherlands has shown exemplary leadership in returning colonial era artifacts to where it belongs !
@Keir_Starmer and @EmmanuelMacron take leaf out of this book and start returning the treasures !
Thank you @anandmahindra for showcasing the heros who live in shadows but the impact of their work is no less than the headline and attention grabbing heros we see often.
I’m fascinated by Dr. Shubha V. Iyengar because she literally helps planes land through fog while most of us are learning to move through metaphorical fog.
Topper in BSc & MSc, backed by parents who encouraged her interest in science when girls rarely were inspired to pursue it.
40+ years at CSIR–NAL & she led the team that developed Drishti, built for India’s fog, rain, dust, and uncertainty.
When the world feels unclear, remember: someone built systems so others could land safely.
She is my #MondayMotivation
Warren Buffett retires today, most likely in his mind at the closing bell, just minutes from now.
Congratulations to the greatest investor the world will ever know. The returns speak for themselves - Berkshire earned 6,118,651% or 19.9% annually over his 60 years running the company. The S&P 500 returned 46,491%, or 10.4%. Berkshire’s shares could decline by 99.2% and still have outperformed the market. The record is even greater when including the partnerships he ran through 1969.
However, it is not the returns but the way Warren did it that matters most; with integrity and morality - and with humility and humor. He didn’t have to teach, but he did. On behalf of so many of us, thank you, sir.
New breakthrough in green tech. Researchers at Boston College have found a bacterium, Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, that can eat through spent batteries. This microbe thrives in acid and feeds on metals, offering a self-sufficient way to recycle batteries and cut waste + energy use. #Science #Sustainability https://t.co/FObX8sjjb0
MIG21 retires …. One of earliest supersonic fighter aircrafts, MIG21 was one time the backbone of IAF… my father in law Air Marshall Dushyant Singh flew this plane. In his words ‘ a wonderful machine but very unforgiving’!
We shall remember you, #MiG21! A legendary icon of the Indian Air Force, this fearless warrior has etched its valour across generations. As its final sortie marks the close of a historic era, the #IAF celebrates its legacy with pride and ushers in a bold new chapter of innovation and strength. Join us in honouring the #MiG21Retirement with a grand farewell!
In Pune, a daily wage worker admitted his wife to the hospital for delivery. It turned out to be a cesarean section. He didn’t know how much the fee would be and thought he might have to mortgage his house. “Doctor, what child is it?”
“You have been blessed with an angel (a baby girl),” the doctor replied. “How much is the fee?” “When angels are born, I don’t charge any fee,” said the doctor. The man fell at his feet saying, “Sir, you are God.”
Dr. Ganesh Rakh in Pune has been doing this for 10 years—he does not take even a single paisa if a baby girl is born. So far, he has delivered over 1,000 babies for free.
His mother told him once, ‘Become a doctor and protect these angel girls,’” he proudly says.
Dr. Rakh’s Save the Girl Child initiative has transcended borders and inspired change globally.
Stay blessed, Doctor!

The 1st thriller writer to capture my imagination. I was blown away by 'Day of the Jackal' & 'Odessa File,' but my favourite was 'Shepherd,' which drew on his experience as an RAF pilot.
RIP Frederick Forsyth, who started writing for the best of reasons, he was totally broke!
@sardesairajdeep Really ? What does it say about incompetent nincompoops journalists from our country who cannot even make a case on our behalf??
Pathetic!
A spectacular migration from Central Africa to the Arctic Circle is underway. In what organizers are calling the largest-scale public art installation ever attempted, a growing carnival of zoologically-accurate animal puppets are making the 20,000-kilometer journey
