A reminder to join the seminar by Professor Kalodimos on “Atomic View of Molecular Chaperones in Complex with Unfolded Clients” tomorrow (11/16) at 11am EST. To register please go to https://t.co/JyPFlVQbtD. #hsp90#chaperonecode.
We are excited to announce a seminar by Professor Kalodimos’s “Atomic View of Molecular Chaperones in Complex with Unfolded Clients” on 11/16 at 11am EST. To register please go to https://t.co/JyPFlW7Mlb. #hsp90#chaperonecode.
4/ Dr. Dalia Barsyte-Lovejoy continues to push the boundaries of chemical biology and proteomics to understand the global role of protein methylation, publishing an excellent review in @NatRevDrugDisc on this topic: https://t.co/JpbbnnZ31w #methylation#chaperonecode#hsp70
1/ Our PI of the week is Dr. Dalia Barsyte-Lovejoy (@BarsyteDalia). After obtaining a PhD in molecular cell biology and toxicology from the @OfficialUoM, she studied kinase-transcription factor signaling during her postdoctoral training at @OICR_news.
3/ She appeared on our #chaperonecode radar after publishing an outstanding article in @NatureComms on monomethylation of #Hsp70 by PRMT7. Inhibition of Hsp70 methylation via the small molecule SGC3027 leads to a compromised cellular stress response: https://t.co/hTveTQ7Jxy
6/ Dr. Mattoo has continued to be one of our favorite chaperone code researchers and her most recent work shows that the HYPE-BiP interaction maintains ER homeostasis. https://t.co/My7CHDalsk We look forward to seeing what will come next for the Mattoo Lab!
1/ Our PI of the week is Dr. Seema Mattoo (@MattooLab), Associate Professor at Purdue University in Indiana (@LifeAtPurdue). After obtaining a PhD in Microbiology & Immunology @UCLA, she pursued a post-doctoral fellow @ucsd and went on to work as a research scientist at HHMI.
5/ Of course, we are especially excited by her studies on PTMs on chaperones! Her 2015 paper in @jbiolchem demonstrated the ability of HYPE, a human Fic protein to localize to the ER and adenylate BiP, the ER-resident Hsp70: https://t.co/BgcFzn35Kk
5/ Dr. Diezmann’s recent excellent studies cement the #chaperoneode as key for candida virulence. Please see: https://t.co/xDKMxHntjO and https://t.co/oXBpYLX8ai
1/ Our PI of the week is Dr. Stephanie Diezmann (@diezmannlab). She has published over 20 high profile papers and her work has been cited nearly 1500 times! Dr. Diezmann obtained a degree in Biology from @HumboldtUni and a PhD from @DukeU.
4/ Although previous studies have observed connections between #Hsp70 phosphorylation candida pathogenesis (https://t.co/cqt0se3QOe), the role of Hsp90 PTMs in candida has remained unclear.
Our Chaperone Code Club meetings resume with a seminar by Professor Laurence Pearl’s @laurencepearl “Chaperone Targeted Degradation of Hsp90 Client Proteins” on 09/15 at 11am EST. To register please go https://t.co/JyPFlVQbtD. #hsp90#chaperonecode
6/ Finally to get a real insight into Dr. Mollapour’s thoughts on the Hsp90 chaperone code, please check out this review in @jbiolchem: https://t.co/4nPEo03l0w
1/ Our PI of the week is Dr. Mehdi Mollapour (@MedMol), Professor and Vice Chair for Translational Research at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Having published more than 80-scientific papers, reviews and book chapters, he has received a number of awards and recognitions
5/ Only a few weeks old, truly beautiful work demonstrating a connection between metabolism and the FLCN oncoprotein in @NatureSMB: https://t.co/k46dvsQE7G
