@SynBio1 @JessicaSacher Is this ASMR for scientists 😀

[Andy Truman PhD @TrumanLab]

@pedrobeltrao Incredible! How detailed did the prompt have to be?

[Chiosis Lab @chiosislabmskcc]

Last Friday @phdsadikbay presented some of our latest research at the 22nd Anderson Cancer Symposium. More to come!

[Andy Truman PhD @TrumanLab]

@JasonSynaptic @blekhman @baym Absolutely agree

[Andy Truman PhD @TrumanLab]

@nandgatesonly @jdpereira I think he means the people actually doing the science

[Andy Truman PhD @TrumanLab]

@jdpereira The have an early career review program-no need to have submitted: https://t.co/hh9aBpM0Bd

[Andy Truman PhD @TrumanLab]

@UroDhino @ItaiYanai Weak editor

[Andy Truman PhD @TrumanLab]

@SonaliJindal12 @ItaiYanai Great point and really makes me wonder if reviews will even be useful if AI keeps improving.

[Andy Truman PhD @TrumanLab]

Like it or not, there is zero chance that major journals will not have “AI-assisted review” within 3 years

[Itai Yanai @ItaiYanai]

If you’re letting AI do a review of a manuscript for you, just know that (A) it’s super obvious to anyone reading it, (B) it’s dishonest - as you’re explicitly instructed not to do so, and (C) it’s careless - because you’re uploading someone’s confidential material to an AI app.

[Andy Truman PhD @TrumanLab]

@ItaiYanai I’m get where you’re coming from, but given some of the reviews I have gotten recently, AI would have been better 😬

Today in @NatureBiotech we report OptiPrime, a mechanism-based machine learning model for predicting prime editing (PE) efficiencies and suggesting pegRNAs to achieve a user-specified edit. OptiPrime incorporates biochemical knowledge about PE into its mathematical structure, enabling training on ~300,000 PE efficiencies collected using 40 experimental conditions in multiple labs, and outcome predictions of PE variants such as twin prime editing not used in its training. OptiPrime enabled the rapid identification of efficient PE strategies across a variety of applications in vitro and in vivo, and could outperform months or years of manual experimental optimization.

[Andy Truman PhD @TrumanLab]

@arjunrajlab @AdamRochussen Past productivity demonstrates the feasibility of carrying out the good ideas proposed, especially for major grants like an R01. For pilot studies/seed grants then less so.

[Andy Truman PhD @TrumanLab]

@MicahGoldrich @p_maverick_b @ATinyGreenCell Absolutely agree

[Arjun Raj @arjunrajlab]

Can someone start a journal called “Cell Atlases” so that the rest of the journals can go back to publishing interesting things?
