A sublime Veena naada samarpane by Asthana Vidwan Shri Ramana Balachandran offered at the lotus feet of Sri Sharada Ammanavaru at the Shringeri Sharannavaratri Darbar. Blessed by Shri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahasannidhanangalavaru, his soulful music assure us that Karnataka Shastreeya Sangeeta is not only in safe hands, but profoundly future-ready.
Eight years ago, six Catholic nuns publicly campaigned against a bishop, accusing him of raping one of them. Today, three of the sisters, still clad in Carmelite brown, have started a clothing business to put food on their table after they say the church hierarchy abandoned them. I went to their dwelling to speak to them. Here is that conversation.

Just look at the terminology used in this tweet and you'll understand one of the ways a narrative is pushed. It says "institutional murder of Sahil Wakode," when what's on record is that Professor Doolla caught Wakode cheating, Wakode apologised in writing, and, per IIT, no disciplinary action was taken against him. The caste allegations against Doolla remain unproven and under investigation. Yet what is being used? Institutional murder.
Further, on whether casteism is pervasive in the IITs, and whether the IITs were meant to be built on merit or caste in the first place, watch: https://t.co/ZIpFttt50p
This is what real Garba looks like
We do it around Devi Maa,not in separate circles like I’ve seen outside Gujarat (esp Mumbai,Delhi)Garba is Maa’s aaradhana not just a fun activity but most people outside Gujarat see it that way
Lakshmikutty Amma, Kerala’s poison healer, knows around 500 herbal medicines by heart - treating snake bites, scorpion stings and fevers no one could cure, from a tiny hut deep in the forest. She has never charged a single person.

In response to the rice bag ...
A tribal guy clearly explained how Bhagwan Ram is associated with tribals.
He showed proof of a documentary where, in tribal weddings, tribals used to dance while chanting Bhagwan Ram.
Tribals saw Rama as a human.
Tribals treated him as a King who lived with them during exile.
That’s the reason every year Telangana tribals walk to Bhadrachalam on Sri Rama Navami.
Jai Shree Ram 🚩
Why this clip is out in the public ? Who did this? Who allowed this? Is this not public humiliation of @iitbombay director? if tomorrow any thing happened with director who would be responsible? @narendramodi And these castist labours are saying why video of Sahil is made public when he was cheating in the examination.
Hijacking of IITB is continued since 2016 by these top rated castist lofers and if @iitbombay not taking any action they will make it third class institute.

गायकी को वैसे भी संतों की वाणी कहा जाता है। 15 साल की उम्र में उन्हें संत और शास्त्रीय गुरु पुट्टाराज गवई के पास ले जाया गया था। ये उनके आशीर्वाद का असर है।

A most heartening sight. And sound of course. We are celebrating Navaratri the 9 day and 9 night festival. A typical way to celebrate is with the traditional GOLU, the stepwise display of gods and other interesting objects as seen here.
Listen to this Sikh gentleman present this. What beautiful rendering of a devotional song 🎵 ❤️ 💙 💜 in a language that is not originally his. This is Tamil.
In 1872, the Japanese government announced that Emperor Meiji was eating beef.
Why publicise the sovereign’s dinner?
Because for 1,200 years, beef was banned by imperial decree and religious taboo. To survive Western dominance, Japan decided to Westernise everything, even its dinner plate.
But at what cost to its civilisational soul?

Gold is missing from Kashi Vishwanath’s sacred spire. If governments claim the authority to administer temples, devotees have every right to demand accountability. Our offerings are sacred property, not a blank cheque!
The Dance of Fire 🔥
Inside Gujarat’s 70-Year-Old Mashal Raas
In the streets of Jamnagar, Gujarat, Navratri features an extraordinary visual tradition: the Mashal Raas (or Angara Raas).
Dancers move in tight synchronization holding dual flaming torches, dancing barefoot directly over a ground scattered with burning embers.
To the beat of the dhol and traditional chanting, dancers rotate live torches in rhythmic unison.
Where Does It Come From?
Back in the 1950s, local communities in Saurashtra, especially around Jamnagar, began performing this unique form of Garba during Navratri.
Traditionally, it happens late at night during the final days of the festival.
Long before it became a ritual dance, manipulating torches was part of traditional warrior training in Saurashtra, used by soldiers for night patrols and agility drills. Over time, those martial drills transformed into an offering of devotion, formalizing into this community tradition after 1950s.
In Indian tradition, fire represents purity, energy, and inner courage. This is community devotion, focus, and physical discipline in its purest form.
Have you ever witnessed an Angara Raas live? Share your thoughts below.

It was a great privilege to interview Jagdish Kaur and her brother Gulshanbir in Punjab. Will release it tonight at 9:30 PM.

Photo 2: English cover, her husband Comrade Balwinder Singh Sandhu, Jagdish Kaur and their son.
Photo 3: Jagdish Kaur and her brother Gulshanbir giving interview to Vaad.
Photo 4: Balwinder Singh Sandhu with his wife, his elder brother and his bhabhi waiting for the President of India to confer Shaurya Chakras on all four of them - only one family in India to achieve this glory.
The great Sandhu family of Bhikhiwind. They resisted Khalistani terrorism bravely in 1990s. On 16th October 2020, exactly 6 years ago, terrorists shot down Balwinder Sandhu at his home. On this day, let’s pay our dearest respects to him and his brave family 🙏

In 2025, a man filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking the restoration of a beheaded idol of Lord Vishnu at this temple. However, the then CJI BR Gavai declined the petition.
He could have simply said that the matter fell under the jurisdiction of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). But the CJI went on to say "Go and ask the deity itself to do something now. You say you are a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu. So go and pray now".
Now, one year later, in 2026, the ASI has found the missing head of the idol and initiated the restoration process.
Every year on Oct 15, I think, with some sadness, about an Indian cricketer and tennis player (and Cambridge Blue) who just vanished after stepping out of his home in Adyar in Madras.
Wrote about him last year.

A rainy Navaratri evening, the first day of the monsoon, and @_RamanaB_ opening with Shri Muthuswamy Dikshitar’s Shri Rajarajeshwari Tripurasundari in Poornachandrika. Naada Aaradhana - an offering to Devi through the veena.
The perks of being in Chennai! Absolutely immersive.
overturning his death sentence means nothing if he isn't released from prison. just last week he was attacked by fellow prisoners with knives. his life is still at risk. he should be released and deported back to sri lanka
I welcome the decision by the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia to set aside the death sentence imposed on Sri Lankan national Anojan Sivarasa.
This brings immense relief to Anojan, his family, and all Sri Lankans who have followed his case with deep concern. It reflects the value of patient diplomacy, respect for the legal processes of a friendly nation, and the tireless work of those who stood by a Sri Lankan citizen abroad.
I express my sincere appreciation to the Government of Saudi Arabia for this outcome. I also thank the many Saudi Arabian and Sri Lankan diplomats, civil servants and legal teams for their dedicated efforts.
My Government will continue to extend all necessary support to Anojan and his family as the remaining legal processes conclude. No Sri Lankan who leaves our shores in search of a livelihood should ever feel that they stand alone.
Massive news. And amazing news. His life being spared was a minimum achievement here. The next step has to be push for his extradition to Sri Lanka and for him to be given a fair trial according to Sri Lankan law. FWIW I don't think he deserves to be "tried" at all, but I'm trying to think of a realistic win here given even the Saudi government will have to save face in some way...
Thank you to everyone who supported and stood with Anojan throughout this difficult time ❤️🙏🇱🇰
