Today's Inspiration:
My PhD advisor (and his advisor) said: "The most important measure of a lab's achievement is not how many papers it has published, or how many grants it has received, but rather the students that the lab has nurtured." (Moved to tears in my mind😭)
In other news, I recently defended by PhD thesis, Composable, Sound Transformations for Nested Recursion and Loops. I am immensely thankful to my adviser @mkulkarni, my committee members @GhostofBendy, Xiaokang Qiu and Sam Midkiff, and my collaborators and mentors.
LaTeX tip: if your listings-heavy manuscript takes minutes to compile, consider switching from “listings” to “minted” package. I just did, and this reduced compilation time by 20x.
The reason: listings’ tokeniser is written in TeX, and minted’s (Pygments) is in Python.
