🌶️ Roast ERC-7786 🌶️
Myself, @frangio_, @charrcobb, and @sergey_nog (with @joshrudolf facilitating) will publicly debate the value of ERC-7786 next Wednesday, April 16th.
We actively want the most blunt, brutal feedback about it, and we'll discuss it all next week. ⬇️
We’re thrilled that the @ethereum Interoperability Working Group is making progress towards a unified General Message Passing standard, and that ERC-7786 is contributing to it.
In just a few years, the blockchain industry has grown from a handful of chains to hundreds, creating an ecosystem that once fueled rapid innovation but now struggles with a poor crosschain user experience.
At the root of a poor crosschain user experience lies a poor crosschain developer experience.
Today, developers building crosschain apps often have to “lock in” to a single crosschain messaging protocol, each of which works differently, leading to a fragmented environment where it’s difficult for apps to communicate across chains effectively.
ERC-7786 enables a unified crosschain developer experience, allowing devs to use any crosschain messaging protocol and switch between them with little to no code changes.
Over the past few months, following the initial proposal from OpenZeppelin and @axelar's contributor @interop_labs, a broad group of industry leaders has helped shape a credibly neutral ERC-7786 proposal, and we’re thrilled that the Interop Working Group is progressing with it.
We invite everyone to take a look at it and share their feedback: https://t.co/KfkJpcKLUh
Special thanks to the core contributors and supporters of this proposal @frangio_@charrcobb@sergey_nog@Amxx@ernestognw@ellierdavidson@joshrudolf@Pedroais2
