Keeping you up-to-date on Charter Schools around the country as they lead the way toward a better education for our children! #schoolchoice#itrustparents
@SuptMarkHenry No it isn't. And no they don't. This is basically saying, "All charter schools are bad cause of a few bad people once in charge of charter schools, but all public schools are good cause of a few good experiences at public schools."
On our blog this morning: Tips to secure enrollment for next year, along with mentions of a few of our favorite enrollment tools including @canva, AddEvent, and Lotterease.

@KyleStratis@DannyAller Funding is the only problem in traditional public schools? If they had more money, that'd solve the systemic racism and classism?
@lawdy15@KyleStratis@DannyAller Charter schools are subject to Boards, Districts, and students they serve. They're accountable and must be transparent. They draw up a charter that must be approved and upheld or can be closed while many traditional schools remain open even after failing students for decades.
@TravisMenard00 @Locke_Wiggins@kimbetech@DeAngelisCorey The cost of the transition is important. But what about the cost of schools staying as they are now? It's easy to dismiss numbers and say "Good enough," until it's your child or a child you love that is struggling in a system that doesn't care to understand them.
@TravisMenard00 @Locke_Wiggins@kimbetech@DeAngelisCorey Where do they go now while the public school system loses its teachers to union protests? While kids are bullied with no retribution? While teachers don't have the time to help individual students that fall behind?
@MDonahueforIA@IWF@ewarren Would love to. That's what many charters are hoping to do by opening in those under-served areas. Unfortunately waiting for the upper class citizens that make up the government to pass reforms which, in their eyes, take away from their own children, is a bit disheartening.
@carterpageshat@IWF@ewarren There are the same number of children in the system no matter how many different types of schools there are.
Yes, I agree education needs more funding, but I think it also needs a huge audit and standardization of their spending and salaries.
@MCMyChoice Absolutely! And listen to BOTH sides, not just the one with the bigger donation. Their policy stances affect real children, not just statistics.

"It’s not just about getting your homework done, it’s not just about passing tests. But it’s also about dealing with those very real-life challenges." Thank you to charters like @AccelAcademies who serve students trad'l public schools have failed!
@thedirtywop83@BanalProbe@priscillatotiya If the schools are bound by zip code, they aren't accessible to all. It's no secret that schools in more affluent areas provide a better education.
@BanalProbe@priscillatotiya "And guess who doesn’t have the luxury to miss work, pay people or buy extra property? 🤔" or "AZ schools superintendent talks education access after Sunnyslope High campout"
@BanalProbe@priscillatotiya It's not held against them. They're able to help their child while less affluent parents are not. The point is all parents should have equal access to the good schools. Education quality should not be determined by parental ability to give up work and camp out to enroll them.
@robocallerzzzzt @DeAngelisCorey Because in an ideal world, the government WOULD be in service of its people, and they'd be motivated by the good of its citizens rather than their wallets. I, personally, have seen more greed than care.
@robocallerzzzzt @DeAngelisCorey That makes sense. And motivation-wise, ideally, everything could be provided equally well in all areas, for free. The problem is there are biases, bloated admin costs, unhappy teachers, etc that hinder the learning environment. Introducing other options is meant to improve all.
