@spencerc99 Wow, I love this, so much passion π. "I want to feel like if I was the last human alive, Iβd be doing the rest of the race some justice, honoring their memory." really resonates.
@stewartbrand I saw!! I love the perspective on maintenance -- making such a thing *inspiring* is a tough but valuable nut to crack. One of my favorite pieces I've read in awhile.
A guaranteed fun evening read. A story of 3 people sailing solo around-the-world in 1968. Start and end in Europe, without stopping anywhere else.
@stewartbrand did an excellent job ππ

Oo, excellent reporting. Highlights:
- a surprisingly high quantity of bad data science
- a16z claims that Youtube uses more energy than all global data centers
A deep dive on Andreessen Horowitz's latest "State of Crypto" report. In short: they want people to keep buying crypto, and are not above publishing blatant falsehoods to convince them to do so.
The report itself is 60 pages long, so this is a long one.

@vitusbenson@PatrickKidger So few views, but fascinating: https://t.co/sLXo3qDzcR.. and it's really cool to see their atypical perspective of not focusing on forests: https://t.co/NMvxayB8i1. They're spot on about the limitations.
@vitusbenson@PatrickKidger Woah this is incredible (too good to be true??). 150k+ stoves in India is just one of their projects. They estimate $23/ton CO2, which is the cheapest I've heard of for good quality offsets. Hmm..
@liron@MightyApp @typhoonjim If you mean the main bottleneck of browsers, no, not always. If you simply just have a faster CPU you'd be quite surprised how much faster many websites run. And how fast the browser runs in general (i.e. speed of closing a tab).
Yikes, #1 google result for "how to tie your shoes" is a totally different way. It's both confusing and an even worse knot than the granny knot. *But* it is faster to tie.
Body posture does matter, but not in the way the video describes. Power poses donβt seem to have an effect on neutral poses, but contractive poses do have a negative effect.
