In the 27 times that they raced the oval, the race was won by the pole winner 5 times. 5/27= 18%. Is that really much different than most other race tracks?

@JlukeJohn @nascarman_rr @DWC_78 In the early years of the truck series, it was common to see truck/CART double headers at Fontana and Vegas. It was a race we looked forward to because at the time the trucks still primarily raced short tracks so it was kind of a novelty to see them on a 2-mile track.

His time as a championship contender (1 season) was even shorter than Jacques (2 seasons).

Even with a Jordan team that didn't have the resources as McLaren and Ferrari, he damn near stole the title. He probably felt more comfortable in that environment. A smaller team giving him full support and (eventually) clear #1 status.

Instead he crashed out and that set the tone for his season. If he wins then maybe his year is completely different.
