@GeordieStory @IPreferPi314@nytimes Deaths are very rare now due to the vaccine program…some deaths from chickenpox continue to occur in healthy, unvaccinated children & adults. In the past…healthy adults who died from chickenpox contracted the disease from their unvaccinated children

@GeordieStory @IPreferPi314@nytimes So UK’s reasoning for not vaccinating children is: 1) Leaves unvaccinated children at risk as adults when an infection can be worse. 2) No sick kiddos to boost adults immune response to shingles. *At risk of stating the obvious * - vaccines would solve both issues.
On the one hand you really shouldn’t dive into the replies in the original thread. On the other, it really makes it clear Elon has no one in his circle who say no to him, and he has absolutely no tolerance for being corrected or better informed.
@fireti@mdwings2@elonmusk@engineers_feed Right, work by engineers who are actually smart, not self-proclaimed chief eng @elonmusk who benefits by ppl vastly overestimating his intelligence & contributions outside of being a “ballsy” investor. He wishes he was more than a charlatan, self-provided evidence says otherwise
@alieninsect@TheNewImpostor Seems like participants in the study would also be skewed toward more severe illness to begin with, so even if compared to suicidal ideation seen in trials for say SSRI’s it has higher rates, which would be expected.
@fitbit Fitbits are terrible quality matched with useless customer service. Fitbit ignores widely known problems with their products (check any Fitbit Help forum). Sensors stop functioning, frequently after firmware updates, rendering the watch useless. Buy a different brand!!!!!!!
@RyanMarino@UberFacts Not quite like Xanax or alcohol, but… APAP has a very interesting MOA and does effect the perception of pain in a unique way… just not really best to compare to Xanax or alcohol.
@nateplopface @CateriCollins@BluesteinLinda I suppose I consider a persons *Quality* of life more important than avoiding risks of addiction. Addiction risks can be managed, patients can’t get back days, months, years spent in pain. Pain impacts all aspects of a persons life, work and family may suffer adding to stress.
@nateplopface @CateriCollins@BluesteinLinda Where does it say that the initial opiate Rx was not preceded by other treatments for chronic pain mgmt? Un/under treated painful conditions is not risk free and forcing patients to deal w/ pain to avoid relatively low risk of addiction is a gross way to practice medicine.
