A delegation of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), led by Chairman Dr Naseem Baloch, met in Geneva with Ms Grażyna Baranowska, Chair-Rapporteur of the United Nations Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID).

During the meeting, the BNM delegation presented Paank’s latest six-month human rights report and a dossier on enforced disappearances to the Working Group’s leadership.

BNM leaders briefed UN officials on the grave situation of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, stating that Pakistan’s policy of enforced disappearances has left many families devastated and homes deserted.

BNM is currently conducting an international diplomatic campaign in Geneva in support of Balochistan’s freedom movement. The three-day campaign will formally begin on 24 September with BNM’s 12th Balochistan International Conference at the Geneva Press Club. A photo exhibition, protests, a rally and meetings with international organisations will also form part of the campaign.

In parallel, during the UN General Assembly session in the United States, BNM will run a digital truck advertising campaign in New York and hold a protest outside UN Headquarters.

BNM spokesperson said the organisation’s sustained international advocacy has placed the Balochistan question firmly before global institutions as an urgent issue requiring resolution. Pakistan has long evaded accountability on enforced disappearances, but BNM’s persistent efforts have compelled it to answer before international bodies. In this meeting, the BNM delegation did not merely describe the situation in words; it submitted documented evidence that is difficult to dismiss. BNM urges UN mechanisms not to rely on Pakistan’s false and unfounded claims, but to take practical and effective steps towards accountability so that the human rights situation in Balochistan can improve.

PAANK reports that an armed group death squad linked to Pakistani security forces attacked the home of Tariq, son of Allah Dad, in Malant, Tump, Kech District on 12 September 2026.

The attackers attempted to forcibly disappear his son, Muhammad Tahir. When the family resisted, the attackers opened fire, killing Muhammad Tahir and seriously injuring his father, Tariq.

PAANK condemns this reported killing and attempted enforced disappearance and calls for an impartial investigation and accountability for those responsible.

The Killing of Dr. Nokaap, a Healer and Teacher of Baloch Refugees, Is a War Crime:

Chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Dr. Naseem Baloch, has described the killing of Dr. Abdul Rasheed, alias Nokaap Baloch, a long-standing party colleague and member of the BNM Central Committee, as a national tragedy. He said that armed agents of the Pakistani state and military, murdered him, while posing as a patient, went to the residence of the senior party leader, a hardworking man, doctor and teacher who had been living in exile in Iranian-administered Balochistan.

Dr. Nokaap’s killing is the killing of a political activist, physician and educator who devoted his entire life to the cause of Baloch national freedom, serving humanity and spreading the light of knowledge. His death is an irreparable loss for the BNM, supporters of the Baloch national movement, and Baloch refugees, for whom he was a source of hope, medical care and education.

Martyr Dr. Abdul Rasheed, alias Nokaap, was born in the house of Waja Ghulam Hussain in Gandachai, Kolwah. From childhood, he was deeply committed to social service. In his youth, both politics and social service became integral parts of his life.

There were government schools in his village and nearby villages in Kolwah, but there were no teachers. He arranged a teacher for his village through self-help initiatives and personally taught children voluntarily for years in the nearby village of Kanechi. At the same time, having completed his medical education, he provided free medical treatment to people in the area. He was among the early members of the party in the Kolwah region.

After working at the unit level, he became Vice President of the Gishkaur Zone in 2010 and President in 2012. Following the formation of new zones that same year, he was elected President of the Gandachai Zone. In 2022, he was elected a member of the BNM Central Committee during the party’s Central Council session.

Dr. Nokaap was a long-standing, ideological and deeply committed colleague of the Baloch National Movement. He remained unwaveringly committed to the party programme and the objective of national freedom, and continued to fulfil his organisational responsibilities with steadfastness through every difficult period.

He began his political and organisational journey at the grassroots level and, through his ability, integrity, hard work and ideological perseverance, went on to serve in various positions of responsibility. At the 2022 Central Council session, he was elected to the BNM Central Committee, a position he continued to hold while carrying out his national and organisational responsibilities until his assassination.

Dr. Naseem Baloch said that because of Dr. Nokaap’s active political involvement and public role in Kolwah, the Pakistani military repeatedly subjected him to reprisals. His house was bulldozed, his property was looted, and repeated attempts were made to kill him, although he managed to survive. The destruction of his home and the insecurity prevailing in the area eventually forced him to migrate to Western Balochistan.

However, forced displacement, continuous pursuit and personal losses could neither break his resolve nor separate him from the national struggle and his commitment to serving the people.

Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch said that after reaching Western Balochistan, Dr. Nokaap chose as his centre of service not the cities but remote and deprived areas where Baloch refugees affected by war and state repression were living in extremely difficult conditions.

He provided free medical treatment to these refugees and local residents and offered whatever medical assistance he could to patients in need. Dr. Nokaap was not only a healer who treated people’s wounds but also an educator who shared knowledge. He began teaching refugee and local children free of charge, lighting two lamps of medicine and education amid the darkness of deprivation.

London: We thank @johnmcdonnellMP for once again standing with the Baloch nation and supporting the Baloch cause.

Mr McDonnell has tabled an Early Day Motion and submitted two written parliamentary questions concerning the reported airstrikes in Surab, civilian casualties, curfews and communications shutdowns across Balochistan.

In response, the UK Government confirmed that it is aware of these reports and that the British High Commission continues to raise the human rights situation in Balochistan with Pakistan at senior levels.

This recognition is important, but words must now be followed by action. We call on the UK Government to support an independent international investigation, hold Pakistan accountable for war crimes in Balochistan, and end aid, funding and the supply of military equipment that could enable further abuses against the Baloch people.

The BNM will continue to advocate for the Baloch national struggle for liberation at every international forum and expose Pakistan’s human rights violations in #Balochistan.

On 10 September, at around 10pm, Pakistani forces opened fire on a wedding house in Killi Yar Mohammad Sonaro, Wadh, Khuzdar.

Four civilians were killed and several injured, including women and seven-year-old Shahzaib.

From Wadh to Surab, Mastung, Kalat, Makuran and Noshki, Baloch civilians are being targeted through bullets, drones, helicopters and fighter jets.

Pakistan may use force to maintain its occupation, but history is clear: nations are not silenced by bullets. Every act of repression will strengthen the Baloch struggle for freedom.

Chairman of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), Dr. Naseem Baloch, has described the killing of Dr. Abdul Rasheed, alias Nokaap Baloch, a long-standing party colleague and member of the BNM Central Committee, as a national tragedy. He said that armed agents of the Pakistani state and military, murdered him, while posing as a patient, went to the residence of the senior party leader, a hardworking man, doctor and teacher who had been living in exile in Iranian-administered Balochistan.

Dr. Nokaap’s killing is the killing of a political activist, physician and educator who devoted his entire life to the cause of Baloch national freedom, serving humanity and spreading the light of knowledge. His death is an irreparable loss for the BNM, supporters of the Baloch national movement, and Baloch refugees, for whom he was a source of hope, medical care and education.

Martyr Dr. Abdul Rasheed, alias Nokaap, was born in the house of Waja Ghulam Hussain in Gandachai, Kolwah. From childhood, he was deeply committed to social service. In his youth, both politics and social service became integral parts of his life.

There were government schools in his village and nearby villages in Kolwah, but there were no teachers. He arranged a teacher for his village through self-help initiatives and personally taught children voluntarily for years in the nearby village of Kanechi. At the same time, having completed his medical education, he provided free medical treatment to people in the area. He was among the early members of the party in the Kolwah region.

After working at the unit level, he became Vice President of the Gishkaur Zone in 2010 and President in 2012. Following the formation of new zones that same year, he was elected President of the Gandachai Zone. In 2022, he was elected a member of the BNM Central Committee during the party’s Central Council session.

Dr. Nokaap was a long-standing, ideological and deeply committed colleague of the Baloch National Movement. He remained unwaveringly committed to the party programme and the objective of national freedom, and continued to fulfil his organisational responsibilities with steadfastness through every difficult period.

He began his political and organisational journey at the grassroots level and, through his ability, integrity, hard work and ideological perseverance, went on to serve in various positions of responsibility. At the 2022 Central Council session, he was elected to the BNM Central Committee, a position he continued to hold while carrying out his national and organisational responsibilities until his assassination.

Dr. Naseem Baloch said that because of Dr. Nokaap’s active political involvement and public role in Kolwah, the Pakistani military repeatedly subjected him to reprisals. His house was bulldozed, his property was looted, and repeated attempts were made to kill him, although he managed to survive. The destruction of his home and the insecurity prevailing in the area eventually forced him to migrate to Western Balochistan.

However, forced displacement, continuous pursuit and personal losses could neither break his resolve nor separate him from the national struggle and his commitment to serving the people.

Chairman Dr. Naseem Baloch said that after reaching Western Balochistan, Dr. Nokaap chose as his centre of service not the cities but remote and deprived areas where Baloch refugees affected by war and state repression were living in extremely difficult conditions.

He provided free medical treatment to these refugees and local residents and offered whatever medical assistance he could to patients in need. Dr. Nokaap was not only a healer who treated people’s wounds but also an educator who shared knowledge. He began teaching refugee and local children free of charge, lighting two lamps of medicine and education amid the darkness of deprivation.
