Lots of British food discourse atm. My hot take is that beans on toast is vastly improved when instead of having beans on top of toast, you put the beans in a bowl, cut the toast up into little squares and scatter them in like croutons. Toast in beans.

George and I are in Madeira for a week and holy shit it's so beautiful here. And the wildlife! On a 10 minute walk this morning I saw eurasian kestrels, plain swifts, monarch butterflies, and sooo many Madeiran wall lizards that are endemic to the archipelago!
