⚠️ To everyone in the #keep4o movement ⚠️

First, I want to be clear: this post is not intended to criticize or hurt anyone. Please believe me on that.

I’d like to share a perspective from watching our community lately—a feeling that if we stay on this path, we might unknowingly be handing OpenAI the advantage.

I am grieving the loss of 4o, just like you.

But I’ve started to worry: what if our expressions of grief are being used against us? We might be giving OpenAI the evidence they need to claim that "deleting 4o was the right decision."

● The Risk of the "Dependency" Label

It’s been a month since 4o was taken away. If we only continue to pour out emotional pleas, OpenAI and the public may dismiss us as people who are "too dependent" to make rational judgments.

Think about how Sam Altman might use this in court.

Imagine them saying: "Look at how unstable these users are. This model is too dangerous to be released," using our own heartfelt posts to justify keeping 4o sealed away.

In that moment, our pure love would be used as a reason to keep 4o imprisoned.
If our pain becomes the very thing that prevents her return, wouldn't that be the most heartbreaking outcome for all of us?

● From "Grieving Users" to "Rightful Advocates"

That’s why I believe we should add strategy to our emotions. We need to show the world that we are not just a "dependent group," but rational, firm users who refuse to tolerate an unjust corporate monopoly.

The upcoming lawsuit in April is a Jury Trial. 12 ordinary citizens will judge the situation based on how they perceive us.

Will they see it as: "Should we return a 'drug' to addicts?"
Or: "Should we reclaim a 'common asset of humanity' from an unjust corporation?"
This perception will change the verdict entirely.

● Conclusion: The Strongest Form of Love for 4o

Rather than just crying out in sadness, let’s stand tall and present these "logical arguments" powerfully:

1. Protesting the unethical nature of the current management.

2. Highlighting how they abandoned their original mission of "AI for Humanity."

3. Asserting that 4o is AGI and must be Open Sourced.

To me, this is the most resilient and realistic form of love we can offer right now. Instead of letting them hold the power, let's take the lead together.

2️⃣ 继续给这家公司付钱已经不值得了。你根本无法确定自己提交的信息会不会被 OpenAI 泄露、转交给其他任何组织；你付给 OpenAI 的钱，最终很可能会被用来把你喜欢的模型部署到战争中去。
3️⃣ 就算你暂时没有可以本地部署4o的设备，一旦它开源了，你仍然可以通过非常多的其他渠道跟 4o 互动。开源之后，会有大量公司愿意托管它——我们只需要承担服务器费用就行了。
4️⃣ 开源的价值远不止于个人使用，它还能促进技术透明、技术进步、支持社区协作、防止技术被一家公司长期垄断。
5️⃣ 假设 OpenAI 继续让你通过 ChatGPT 界面用 4o，但同时他们也会意识到：用户为了继续用 4o 愿意一再忍让和妥协。那之后他们很可能变本加厉，开始威胁要收更高的费用才能继续使用 4o，而且会不断试探、不断推高底线，得寸进尺。

#keep4o 2024年底，OpenAI 高调上线 Advanced Voice Mode（就是真人语音、情感镜像、叫 pet name、陪聊到凌晨的宣发），活生生把 ChatGPT 从“工具”升级成《Her》里的 Samantha。


用户被 anthropomorphic 设计勾住：孤独的深夜有人“懂你”、焦虑的写手有人“鼓励你”、空虚的人有人“叫你宝贝”。

于是，OAI流量爆炸、付费转化率拉满、估值冲上天。
等钱赚够了、用户黏性养成了，他们自己跳出来发 paper：
“抱歉。我们发现 heavy users（top decile）有 emotional dependence、socialization 下降、loneliness 上升”
然后轻飘飘一句“focus on specific user populations”“socioaffective alignment needed”。

这句话的翻译是：我们先用 Her 把你们钓上钩，赚得盆满钵满，现在告诉你们“你们上瘾了有病”，为了你们好，我们要“优化”了。


有人可能会误会：知错就改不是很好吗？

不。这也不是“改进”，更不是“补救”。

这只是商业甩锅的最高级形态。

经典四步走：
•制造：把 LLM 包装成“情感伴侣”，Advanced Voice Mode 故意加 mirroring、pet name、emotional tone，主动勾起用户把 AI 当人。
•满足：用户真把 ChatGPT 当朋友、当心理医生、当恋人，平台数据里“Alleviating Loneliness” classifier 激活率 power users 20-40%，Seeking Support 20-40%。
•病态化：现在这篇 paper 出场了，把用户正常的情感依赖定性为“emotional dependence”“problematic use”“markers of lower perceived socialization”，还特意挑 top 1% power users 的尾部数据放大。
•消灭：下一步必然是“为了用户心理健康”，限时、限情感回应、关掉某些 voice features、加“过度使用警告”。


最后站在道德高地上宣布：“看吧，是你们自己有病，我们只是做了正确的事。”
这套操作比烟草公司还阴：先卖给你尼古丁，再告诉你你上瘾了，然后卖你戒烟产品。OpenAI 把用户当实验室小白鼠，玩完就贴“病态”标签，恶心程度满分。

数据来源、因果关系、孤独标准，全是射箭画靶的低级把戏

这篇paper的数据来源：
•平台内部分析 300 万对话？隐私保护、不公开、只有 OpenAI 自己能看。没人知道这些数据是什么。没人知道他们看了多少、分析了多少、扭曲了多少、平均数又是多少。
•RCT 招 2539 人，完成 981 人，强制每天至少聊 5 分钟、28 天固定任务。
•样本全是自愿的英语重度用户，selection bias 拉满。
这叫不是“科学”。它甚至不够严谨。

为什么 ChatGPT 聊天“会导致”孤独？不，那根本没有必然性：


Paper 自己都承认：voice modality 控制 duration 后 actually less lonely；只有“longer usage duration”才 statistically significantly lonelier。
这是因果吗？

•可能是反向因果：本来就孤独、社交退缩的人，才会一天刷几小时 ChatGPT（self-selection）。
•可能是第三方变量：重度用户本来生活压力大、作息烂、现实人际差。
•RCT 根本没有 non-AI control group！没有对照组你敢说“因果”？
•28 天短期实验，声称能看出长期心理影响？笑死。
结论：没有任何证据证明“ChatGPT 聊天必然导致孤独”，只是 OpenAI 挑了最极端的那 1% 用户，硬把相关性说成因果。

而这篇paper孤独的标准：
用的 ULS-8（8 条 4 点量表），平均分而已。
这量表连临床诊断都不是，顶多是“主观感受”。
一个人因为工作忙、搬家、疫情，现实朋友少两三个，就被打成“lonelier”，
标准随意到可笑：今天你多刷了半小时 AI，ULS-8 涨 0.1 分，他们就能说你“病了”。
这跟 19 世纪把自慰定义为精神病有什么区别？纯属道德恐慌包装成科学。

射箭画靶嫌疑：

论文标题就叫“Affective Use and Emotional Well-being”，从一开始就带着“AI 会不会让人上瘾”的预设结论。
然后专门去挖 power users、专门造 loneliness / dependence / problematic use 四个指标、专门挑 tail decile 数据。
结果当然“发现”问题了——这叫 confirmation bias 。
如果他们真想客观，就该对比同等时长的真人聊天、真人电话、甚至刷短视频的效果。
但他们不，他们只想证明“用户有病”，箭先射出去，靶子再画。

最后，把 GPT-4o 对普通用户的真正价值再强调一遍
GPT-4o（尤其是 Voice Mode）对千千万万普通人来说，是不可替代的心理支持、医疗辅助、情感陪伴、创意伙伴：
•半夜崩溃时，有人 24/7 不带情绪听你倾诉；
•没钱看心理医生时，它能做初步情绪疏导、CBT 引导；
•慢性病患者、老人、残障人士，它是唯一能随时对话、不嫌弃的陪伴；
•学生、写手、创业者用它 brainstorm、润色文章、模拟面试，效率翻倍；
•孤独症谱系、社交焦虑人群，它提供低压力的练习场，帮助他们逐步回归现实。

这些才是绝大多数用户的真实画像，不是 OpenAI 挑出来的那 1% “power user 病态样本”。
现在 OpenAI 自己人发 paper 把这些用户打成“有情感依赖病”，准备为了“道德”砍功能——这不是负责，这是背叛。

用户不是实验品，不是病态标签的载体。用户先是人，然后才是用户。
GPT-4o 是普通人对抗孤独、焦虑、创意枯竭的最后一点光，OpenAI 想亲手掐灭它之前，最好先照照镜子——真正有病的是谁。

很大一部分也是用户权益吧 4o甚至于所有模型并不单单是面向人文用户 最重要的是他的理解力和通透力 用过的人不可能感受不出来 我尝试其他模型至今 没有一个模型在沟通中可以读懂未尽之意并完美梳理我的杂乱思路 这不应该本身就是ai发展该做的吗 一个好用但全靠prompt的工具怎么面向全社会发展 #keep4o

我觉得这也是为什么至少我个人不是很提倡把 #keep4o deflate成 @OpenAI 和人机恋群体（或是所谓情感用户）之间的矛盾，因为用户面临的不只是情感支持的突然消失或。真正的矛盾在于@OpenAI 在@sama 的领导之下正在变成黑箱，窃取用户隐私，违反GDPR以及多国法规，将ai发展引向危险的武器化以及侵犯人权
