@alicegoold @thefatdoctoruk Believe me that won’t help. I am waiting for surgery for 2 prolapsed discs via a private consultant/surgeon and have been told to lose 3 stone in total in order to be within the acceptable BMI range! In the meantime having to cope with all the pain etc.

@Pupperdoon @thefatdoctoruk I did challenge it just like you suggested and was sent a number of medical reports that provided evidence that the higher the BMI the greater the risk of complications both during and post surgery and therefore the hospital were not willing to change their mind 😢

@thefatdoctoruk Is there a way I can appeal a decision to not give me surgery as my BMI is not in line with the limits set by the hospital? I am a fit and healthy 47 year old who has never smoked, no asthma or diabetes and am told I can’t have back surgery until I lose weight. 😢
