Player Announcements.
We are delighted to announce the signing of Taylor Lawrence from Benfleet FC.
Taylor is an excellent central midfielder with a real eye for goal and a fantastic attitude. Having committed early in the off-season, we’re delighted to finally welcome him to Hullbridge.
Taylor brings energy, quality and attacking threat from midfield, and we believe he will be a great fit for the culture and standards we are building at the club.
We’re excited to see what he can achieve in a Hullbridge shirt and look forward to working with him throughout the season.

The club are very happy to announce the appointment of Sammy Knott, aka Knotty, as our new Men’s Team Head Coach. This is a new position as part of a significant re-shuffle this summer as we prepare for our 2026/27 campaign at Step 4 in the Isthmian North. Knotty was with us all of last season as part of Jay Devereux’s coaching team and took on more responsibilities following the departure of Joe Keith.
Knotty is a young coach with plenty of credentials in his career already, including 3 promotions, and is the perfect fit to lead our coaching team into this new exciting chapter. He is very popular with our existing group and we look forward to seeing what he can do with his new, well-earned, responsibilities. Please join us in congratulating Knotty!

👀 BEST GOAL EVER SCORED? 👀
Watch @TayLawrence10 hit this volley from the half way line with the winning goal to beat league leaders Little Oakley at Woodside Stadium this afternoon.
Has a better goal ever been scored in the history of non-league football… we think not!
To any young kid reading this…
I’ve doubted myself in every league I’ve ever played in.
Ryman Prem.
Conference South.
League Two.
League One.
Championship…
And even right before my first Premier League start last night.
That’s not weakness.
That’s being human.
That’s being alive.
When I was growing up, I thought Premier League players were superhuman.
Like they never felt doubt.
Like they never felt nerves.
The truth is…. it’s often the opposite.
Social media won’t tell you that sometimes you step out there with no confidence. That’s normal. That’s ok!
You now have to then step out there with courage.
Confidence feels good.
Courage doesn’t.
But you do it anyway. Show courage enough times…. You build confidence.
Here’s the mindset that’s carried me for 31 years.
When it goes well:
I worked for it.
I earned it.
Well done.
Watch it back.
Get better.
When it doesn’t:
I know I prepared the best I could.
It didn’t go exactly to plan. That’s football.
But Well done.
Watch it back.
Get better.
That simple recipe gave me a special moment last night.
Leading the team out.
Playing alongside a group that fights for every ball.
Celebrates tackles.
Gives everything for the city of Sunderland.
And sharing it with supporters who never gave up, even after four tough seasons in League One.
So if you’re a young player feeling doubt…
Low confidence…
Or like you don’t believe in yourself…
You’re not alone.
Every player feels it.
Confidence isn’t something you’re given.
It’s something you build.
Bit by bit.
Day by day.
With courage.
With work.
With learning.
Anything worth building takes time.
But that’s what makes it so worthwhile!
Thank you @SunderlandAFC ❤️🤍

Movember might be over, but the fight AGAINST men’s health issues never stops.
Earlier this month, we asked some of our boys the same question at the start, and at the end of our interviews, in order to get them thinking DIFFERENTLY and hopefully change their answers by the close.
As we head into what can be a very lonely time of year, we’re urging you to CHECK IN with the people around you because TALKING really does SAVE LIVES.
... and if you want to keep this work going, it’s not too late to donate and help fund life changing support for men - @MovemberUK (link in the comments below)
