Need to get this off my chest as an alum:
Granted that it may be disappointing to even imagine that a medical student would choose to watch a Taylor Swift concert over hospital duties but they did so knowing that there would be consequences as outlined in the handbook (i.e.
I remember a time na may nagleak na convo ng consultants during their residents evaluation. One of our residents had to fly to Japan to spend time with his family.
Some consultants really said “bakit sya nagtatravel sa ibang bansa? Wala syang karapatan, residente pa lang sya.”
I didn't go to Eras Tour, not even a Swiftie pero....
Interns are EXPLOITED. Having to lie about going to Eras Tour says something more about the system than the interns and clerks. We are unpaid without any leaves. Tapos immake up pa ang lost time.
I was left flabbergasted after finding out that a number of medical interns/clerks abandoned their duty post to watch The Eras Tour. If you think it’s justifiable then maybe a career in medicine is not for you.

They are still students though. Its not like the hospital can’t function without them. And they’re working so much-even beyond what’s mandated by DOLE plus they are not even compensated. Its FREE work.
Even what they learn during these trainings are paid by their tuition.
Posts abt Dr. Agbayani’s plight are just sad. Markedly underpaid and overworked ang health care professionals and then you read that kind of decision over something he was not fault over. Nakakalungkot maging doktor dito sa Pilipinas.
To all med or law people here, you might want to read on the case of Dr. Benigno "Iggy" Agbayani
There's a lot to uncover regarding this case & a probable shift in the medical field in the future.
For now, rest in peace Doc Iggy 🥺

Not Dr. Angeles telling us, "If you submit to hierarchical nature of the system, you will eventually succumb and become the doctors you once hated"
Sarap naman itag ng kinauukulan na tuta ng sistema sa med school.
This is me fangirling. I have so much to ask, so much to say but so little time. Until we meet again, Dr. Masahiro Zakoji, a Technical Officer from WHO.
Didn't get accepted in CEIP but I'm sitting next to the WHO regional director next week. So I think it's time to carve my own path na talaga. Bye ASMPH nalang talaga iisipin ko.
