At today’s press conference, Siddaramaiah said something striking: “If not for the Constitution, I would have remained a farm labourer. I would not have been educated, become an MLA, a minister or a chief minister.”
In all the years and interviews I’ve done with him, this one from 2019 was different. I had followed him through the day, from political meetings to a working lunch at his Mysuru home, and for the first time on an English channel, he opened up about his upbringing, the shaping of his ideology, the compromises and balances politics demands, and his views on God, religion and family.

It's not just validation....for that one day event you will prepare for atleast 2 months , which is great commitment ! Also sometimes people spend 9k in one evening for dinner and drinks or outing ...in a way good investment
HYROX fitness event in Bengaluru saw around 9,000 participants.
They charged ₹9,000 per person to participate, which comes to roughly ₹8.1 crore made in a single day.
Same trend is showing up in marathons. People are paying ₹3,000–₹5,000 just to run for a day.
Being fit is good. But why are people spending this much on a one-day event? It feels less about fitness and more about validation.
The first step to fixing Indian sports is putting sportspeople in charge of sports federations. Out of 63 vice presidents across major sports federations only 6 have a sporting background. We allocated ~4480 crore annually to sports yet local stadiums remain dilapidated and athletes struggle financially. We’ve to replace self nomination and insider voting with athlete led elections. Olympians and athletes who've represented India should have the right to elect federation members and choose people who actually understand what it takes to compete at the highest level.
If we want better outcomes, we’ve to put decision making in the hands of people who’ve lived the sport. Else we’ll always keep debating medals instead of building a system that produces them.

The gruesome murder of the pregnant lady, by her father, in Hubballi, is a gentle reminder to everyone that ‘Hindu unity’ is a myth, and absolute balderdash.
No Dalit should ever identify himself/herself as Hindu. It’s a trap to further oppress them. Period.
Last week we said goodbye to Kunaal Majgaonkar, someone who played an active part in building Bengaluru FC since before the club even had a name.
Twelve years on from joining as its first-ever Media Manager, Kunaal leaves having mentored several young media professionals - across content, video and design - into experts in their respective fields.
He was most recently Head of Content and Media for JSW Sports, across its several teams, IPs and other verticals.
Kunaal’s efforts in Bengaluru FC’s earliest days laid the foundation for the fan culture that the club enjoys today, and shaped the matchday experience across BFS and Kanteerava. For a little over a decade, he was the bridge between the Blues and their vociferous supporters.
Having led the creation of BFC’s award-winning digital language and presence, Kunaal pioneered campaigns, kit launches, brand activations and so much more.
The BFC family wishes him luck and light for all that lies in wait.
Once a blue, always a blue! 💙
Ravi Shastri was like Indira Gandhi, imperious, opinionated but got the job done, Rahul Dravid was like Dr. Manmohan Singh, quiet and unobtrusive but mostly delivered when it mattered. Gautam Gambhir is like _____, loud, full of noise and bluster but no delivery. Fill in the blanks yourself. Seen online..😀😀
Probably the worst press conference I have ever seen.
Says "I am not important" and then goes on to count his "achievements" - a drawn series and an ICC Trophy with a team set up by previous coach.
Says "I will not give excuses" and then gives an excuse.
Says "I hate the word transiton" and then says this is transition.
Gives out vague terms on how Test cricket should be played but never takes accountability or accepts his fault.
Blames schedule for lack of preparation but no words on his own chopping and changing that unsettled the team.
Shamelessness at its absolute best. Beware guys, even darker days are ahead if this regime continues. #INDvsSA
