Nigerian security forces often link or tag nearly all crimes in the Southeast to IPOB/ESN as a tactic to streamline a complex security dilemma.
The Nigerian government employs the media to continually associate all regional violence with IPOB/ESN in order to reinforce its 2017 domestic terrorism label on IPOB and advocate for international discrediting of IPOB activities globally.
Nigeria security Fiercely linking the Biafra movement to routine crimes : from armed robbery, kidnappings ,cannibalistic violence seeks to deprive the IPOB of any ideological validity in their secessionist claims, as perceived by foreign governments and global international human rights observers.

According to numerous Investigative reports and former security officials indicate that Nigerian intelligence and investigative policing face considerable shortcomings and challenges in training, funding, and equipment. Thus, categorizing every crime as an IPOB/ESN operation acts as a “cheap trick” and an easy legal cover. It permits security agencies to prematurely close cases on unresolved civilian homicides, armed robbery ,political assassinations and kidnappings without completing the thorough forensic or community intelligence efforts needed to apprehend local crime groups . Since the Nigerian government classified IPOB as a terrorist group categorizing every criminal act—from the regional land conflicts to highway robberies as terrorism , also it legitimizes the Nigeria security forces it’s forceful actions, including Operation Udo Ka and Operation Eastern Sanity, while linking the crimes to IPOB/ESN

By blaming or linking IPOB/ESN exclusively, the security agencies use it as an exit strategy on how these disparate groups exploit the region's political instability like :
Some rouge politicians sponsor Political and Armed thugs to intimidate voters and opponents for settling scores, especially during elections, and these actions can easily be pinned on IPOB/ESN to disguise their criminal activities. Also the Nigeria security link criminal acts to IPOB/ESN to cover Transnational & Local Cults that are Highly violent and the criminal cartels running lucrative kidnapping-for-ransom networks that gives kickbacks to some of the corrupt police and military groups conspiring with criminal gangs in the region .
Additionally, the criminal groups, such as the autocratic factions backed by certain Southeast politicians to tarnish the IPOB's reputation and peaceful strategies for self-determination, along with those devoted to Ekperima in Finland, operate independently of the primary IPOB leadership but adopt similar IPOB and Biafra symbols while engaging in criminal activities.

They can effortlessly evade justice as their offenses are attributed or tagged to innocent IPOB/ESN members by security forces. Also , state-supported vigilante groups such as Ebube Agu, Udogachi, and state vigilantes, which have sometimes been charged and accused with functioning as unlawful, parallel enforcement agencies for state governors, also have their offenses attributed to IPOB/ESN for convenient concealment.

However, linking all the criminal activities in the Biafra region on IPOB/ESN masks these criminal groups and enabling state-connected or intricate political networks to avoid public examination or scrutiny .

The aerial systems will boost Tantita's ability to monitor and secure Nigeria's oil and gas infrastructure, particularly in challenging terrains.
